I'm pretty much never without my hat being a ginger in Texas. I'm very picky when it comes to fit on hats. So far Under Armour hasn't made one that fit me right, Oakley and Condor make some winners. I like the option of adding patches if I so desire.
(http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk74/leatherxman/Mobile%20Uploads/20160618_165715_zpsoa2oe2ex.jpg) (http://s277.photobucket.com/user/leatherxman/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20160618_165715_zpsoa2oe2ex.jpg.html)
The Oakley are called SI caps and the middle one is made by Condor as just operator cap.
Anyone else wear this style?
-
I'll wear a baseball cap, but not one with room for patches. I guess that means it's not an 'operator' cap...
If it's going to be really hot/sunny, then I'll go with a wide brimmed hat instead.
-
I have one like that but lately when I step out, it's a tan Boonie hat. The sun has been intense lately. Pretty much quit wearing my cowboy hat around the farm.
-
I don't step out of the house without a hat, my eyes are sensitive and a hat helps! I have my everyday hat which has my patch and pins on it, but it is black and come hot weather it will sit on a hook and I'll wear one of my boonie hats, I can't stand the sun burning my neck or ears!

I carry the condor as well. Lightest hat I've found in awhile, I also wear a Chevrolet Racing camo hat from time to time.
-
Mostly it's my Tilley, sometimes it's my MTO hat.
Lately I've occasionally been seen about time in my stylish foam hat too.

I rotate between several hats :tu: I have a camo Under Armour that I consider my good hat and I have a few others in that category as well. I tend to try and match my hat with what I am wearing as well ::) Of note the camo UA hat is the only truly good fitting Under Armour hat I have ever put on :tu: I have hats I wear to work that are mostly adjustable but when I am at work I have to wear a hard hat :( I have a fiberglass full brim one that I wear that keeps the sun off my neck and ears mostly  It is very light weight but gets a little warmer than the regular white plastic ones in the summer ;)

Chevy Racing, Condor, and a leatherman hat I'm trying to break in(http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160619/e04976cd1fd1e82841bbf143f75bc1b9.jpg)

Tilley for me most of the time at the moment. Good for both sun and rain. Mostly it's the rain that's had me wearing it recently. My waxed flat cap is too warm for the summer months. I do have a couple of ball caps, including a MT.org one, that also get used.
-
I usually wear a oakley ball cap.

I'm looking for a good boonie hat . I've have several outdoor research Goretex Seattle sombreros. Great for cool rainy weather but not so much for Texas summers. Looking for just a basic model to keep the sun off my head and doesn't have military branch emblems on them. Found a good one at the army navy store but it had the USMC anchor and globe on it.
-
I've heard that operators don't wear operator caps
-
how else would i walk around the mall with a really offensive morale patch? Guess i could bring back the denim jacket and velcro that B up.
-
I prefer boonie hats myself, stops my neck getting sunburnt

Totally agree!

I only really wear a few. I have a denim blue Corona baseball cap from Target. There's a bleach stripe across is, which makes part of it pink. It's beat to hell. Comfy as hell, too. I have a light olive Tiger Woods hat, which is the comfiest flexfit hat I've ever worn. I had no idea what the TW logo was until about a month after I bought the hat...I don't play golf. I keep a tan boonie hat in my car, and have a wide-brimmed Columbia hat I use for hiking and gardening. It works well.

With my bicycle riding. Though not exactly "tacticool", I been wearing bicycle caps, under my brain bucket(helmet). The most comfortable caps for me have been Walz http://www.walzcaps.com/
OH!! And BTW. Here's how you wear a cycling cap:

Bonnie hat for work is a must. Ball caps outside of work as well as Kangols. I love hats actually, all types and styles.
-
I hate baseball because they stopped fitting me in 1992 after my growth spurt, sucks being the one who's hat doesn't fit >:(
Useless invention since it shades your eyes and allows your ears and neck to burn to smurf......that's what sunglasses are for.
Sunglasses, beanie or a real hat or whatever description.......those are my options
-
Baseball cap are a everyday wear, unless it's nasty out and the Suns beating down, then the boonie hat comes out, cause I ain't getting burnt! Speaking of hats my son surprised me and bought me a hat I had long ago, a FD-NY-PD that he found,, :D

Usually a boonie hat, however it's quite old and busted so a new one could be in my future. Although I'm not against a baseball cap either

Campy, the superior component set. I used to wear cycling caps all the time when i rode in the late 90s. My yellow litespeed hat... lost at Hotter N Hell

I have a few hats, 3 government issued in the early 90s, O.R. Seattle Sombreros, and a lot of ball caps. I looked over Tilley yesterday at Gander Mountain. Just couldn't part with 84.99. Maybe one day.

I prefer my ACU digicamo boonie, even tho it's not the most stylish. I started wearing boonies and other full-brim hats 25 years ago, after getting tired of sunburnt ears and neck after spending weekends outdoors. I also have a Tilley Outback for "dressier" occasions, and picked up a Real Deal tarp hat that's sturdy enough for the Zombipocolypse. ;)

I just picked up an Outdoor Research Helios sun boonie. 50/50 cotton poly blend. Fits good, brim maintains shape well.

I always use a bucket hat. I'm serious about shading my head.

Nice hat too! :)

The first pic is a trout fishing trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the vicinity of Mammoth Lakes. The second shot is a high ridge in the Cleveland National park area in Southern California over looking Lake Elsinore and the town of Elsinore.

Even my boy loves my boonie hats

So why has nobody mentioned these? http://www.fab-defense.com/en/category-self-defense-and-training/id-716/tactical-cap-with-self-defense-tool.html
I've seen one in person, pretty impressive.

My go to outdoors hat is a Real Deal Brazil. I braided up a hat band out of tan parachute cord to give it a bit of form and weight. I punched holes, sunk grommets for a technora chinstrap.

Let me resurrect this thread.
I have a lot of headwear, of wide-ranging designs. Several boonies, lots of beanies, bandanas, a Buff, etc.
One of my most recent purchases is a Tru-Spec 24/7 Quick-Dry Operator's Cap in navy blue. I got it because I found the version with no logos on the outside, and it's very lightweight and breathable. Still trying to decide if I should put a patch on the back.

Not much to look at really, and it doesn't stand up well on its own;

I might order a custom hat patch from one of the companies that makes them nowadays. But I'm pretty indecisive, so it will take some time to come up with text I like enough to wear on my head.

Nice, you could do like a military name tape?

It's an idea. Though I'm only really known by that handle here on MTo. Or I could use my profile quote (DUCK!), or something along those lines.
If I can ever get it in gear and pick something, I'll come here and show y'all :salute:
