Post by: Grant Lamontagne on February 05, 2022, 01:42:43 PM
Slovenia takes Gold and Bronze in Women's normal hill ski jump, Germany takes Silver.

Way to go Slovenia!

Anyone else watching the Olympics?

I think curling is my best bet for being in the Olympics.  I'm pretty sure their prep diet is beet and nachos.

Mrs. TJ was watching downhill skiing and rhythmic figure skating the other night. I can do without all the figure skating events. It's like watching paint dry. .

They should have ice racing, winter rally cross or a winter rally stage as an Olympic event.

Watching the men’s luge right now...
Johannes Ludwig of Germany leads after first two runs

After that ice storm last night they could very well be using my driveway as a spectacular ice luge track!

I missed that.  I don't think I've seen any of the women's curling though.

I'm exactly 12 hours off from Beijing and they seem to only run the cool stuff in the middle of the night for me.

I've been too busy this week to watch the Olympics, but maybe tonight. Hopefully I haven't missed the barrel jumping?   ???

Hey Bob! Good to see you buddy.

Been watching bits and pieces of the Olympics.   I always enjoy the bobsleigh events, biathlon and, of course, the curling.

I don't know if I've ever been stressed watching curling before, but I was just now.  :D  Finally, two guaranteed medals.  Can you tell GB really isn't a winter sports nation?

Congrats to the teams from GB, though. They done good. US men's curlers got knocked off the podium last night by those d@mned Canucks...

Just caught the finish of the ROC vs Sweden hockey game. Those teams looked really good and well matched. ROC wins a really close shoot-out to move on, but both goalies looked fabulous.

I love the Olympics and watch it all day.  I work at home on a laptop and have the Olympics playing constantly on another laptop.  This is probably the worst Olympics ever in terms of television coverage IMO, in large part because of The Pandy, but still I watch every minute of it.  I find it strange that so many of the events take place on snow or ice.

Just bad planning - wrong time of the year. Someone probably thought Beijing was on the southern hemisphere. Simple mistake.  :D

The best curling IMO was the Italian team that took gold in mixed doubles.  They went undefeated.  That chick Stephania Constantini - aside from being my next wife if Caroline Catz turns me down - is a total assassin with the rock.   I'm learning Italian just in case: Stephania, tu sei il mio vero amore.

Congratulations to the team GB women's curling.  Especially pleased for Hailey Duff as she's a local lass.
