Leatherman Tools / Re: MAY 2024 MICRA 30 Day Challenge
« Last post by Farmer X on Today at 04:00:45 PM »
Had to cut a couple zip ties today.
Those things sure can be a pain in the rear, eh?

Pssst, hey, Leatherman Tool Group! Look at this!
Is that a Rev package opener transplanted into a Micra? I can see such a thing working!

The blue is hard to see, but the rule markings are much clearer
Nicely done! :like: One downside to the Lexan is despite looking cool, it makes the ruler much more difficult to use.

Speaking of Lexan...

Day 5

I finally got to the promised compare and contrast.

The blue Lexan did much worse on intact paracord. Its scissors required five or six passes, as opposed to the two or three for the newer green Micra. I'm chalking that up to the huge age difference between the two. The blue Lexan is awlmost certainly overdue for some sharpening.

It handled the guts a little better. That piece of yellow paracord will likely make another appearance before the challenge wraps up.

What about a 58mm with 7 layers?  I'm sure I could build one by the time this challenge starts.

That's a pretty cool knife!

My favorite edc item right now is one of my 58mm SAKmods with blue (night dive) alox scales.

Thanks Ulzhan!  I'm limited to two Swisschamps, an early '90's model and a new black scaled one.  All of my other knives, including the Workchamp, are 6 layer or less.  I love the mighty Swisschamp so this will be fun for me.
Welcome aboard, Barry.

Here is my choice of tools for that challenge. I only use 91 mm tools, but other frame sizes are also invited. Just not less than 7 layers.

That is a good looker, alright.  I like the color and the lock.  My favorite EDC is..... drumroll here.... the usual olive drab Victorinox Trooper with the cracked and rattling scales.  I swear that I will carry something else, and sometimes I do, but for some reason I reach in my pocket and.... there it is.
A big shout-out to Kansept and David.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)
