Title: New here. Lucky day
Post by: Caseman601225 on February 13, 2018, 10:40:06 PM
Many many years and more than one email address ago I was a SOSAK member on KF. I'm happy I found this site. I sure used to enjoy SOSAK and learned much. Coming back to the fold, I guess. I have no idea what my old user name was, so...howdy.

I was digging through an old junk drawer of my Dad's a while ago. He's been gone a few years now but was quite a pack rat. Anyway, I stumbled upon this lightly used jewel. I have an unused Mauser in the box I've had since, well, since back when I was a member before. I guess I'm just bragging a little and using this as an introduction of sorts. It's gonna become my new edc. Always fancied the 108mm knives.

Thanks for still being here.

Thank you. Some rough times took me out of the knife enthusiast world for a while. I've missed the hobby and the discussions. I'm a history nut and I love learning about these things.

Well, it's like this. Back then I was pretty hooked on knife collecting. I had a wife who used to gripe all the time because I'd sit up til all hours of the morning on my knife pages (I was into SAKs and some other brands and yeah, I was an addict. Lol).  Well, fast forward a decade or more, and the aforementioned wife is gone. Unfortunately so is most of the collection. Win some, lose some. 😂

Now there's a conversation killer!
At least you still got the Mauser!  ::)

So do I. I've carried a Safari for years. I've actually found that the blade length and shape make them great kitchen/food prep knives.
