I've been thinking about this challenge for a while and wanted to do it this month (march) but I was doing FX Challenge.
So if anyone is interested to do this one as well, feel free to join in.
:hatsoff: :climber:
As I'm really impatient I'd like to do it this coming month (april).
At worst it will just be me, myself & I.
 :dunno:

-
I'm sorry Guibur. If I wasn't signed up for one already, I'd gladly join you. It's a fun challenge.
-
I understand Barry, don't worry.
:hatsoff:
What challenge will you do?
-
I'm signed up for the Buck 110 Challenge in the Edged Tools section.
-
I see, good luck with that.
:hatsoff: :tu:
-
:hatsoff: Merci guibur 😊
-
I am in the same shoes as Barry, and have committed to another challenge in April. But I will definitely chime in from time to time.
-
I understand comis.
:hatsoff:
I will enjoy myself.

-
I will enjoy myself.
This sounds like a challenge for someone who has plenty of knives and constantly changes what he carries. In other words, me. :D So if you haven't decided on solitude, I'll join you.
-
You are more than welcome, better to take this trip with others.
:woohoo:
I have like 9 Vics that I use for my EDC, but that's a great challenge to use all my knives (well not all or we should do a 150 day Challenge).
Hopefully I'll have good surprises with some knives.

Guillaume, I would have joined but I’m down for the PX challenge which I’ve missed in previous years, and I’ve a few PXs ..... Bonne chance, nonetheless, and I’ll be watching your progress to see some of your collection!
-

Indeed it is. I'm going to start making my list :woohoo:

The clock is ticking though!!

Looking forward to watching this one, I’d have definitely joined you if I wasn’t in the April Fools challenge :tu: :tu:

It looks like a fun challenge, but after just completing another one I am afraid I am going to pass. I really need to spend some quality time with the Fisherman now. Wait, that doesn't sound right...

Maybe there's something in this box that I can use in this contest.....

Come on, open it, we all wanna see what's in there

My Huntsman needed to dress up with new scales for the challenge, and I'm going to need a lot of coffee to keep going. :woohoo:

From the size of it, there might be enough to use for the entire month. ;)

DAY 1 :
I had to start this challenge with this one : Midnight Manager.
It's with this very one that the story between SAKs & me started about 17 years ago (I was around 9 years old).
:climber:
I used the nail file & scissors to open a candy bag this morning!
:hatsoff:
-
Great start, y'awl! :like: :like:

Well there's this, for example. Guibur should like this!
France team for World Cup Soccer, 1998. Guess they were hoping to be FrenchChamps....
-
Nice!!
:climber:
And we were FrenchChamps in 1998. :tu:

Not much, I think it's either very rare or people are very attached to it & don't sell it or both. :dunno:

DAY 1
I have chosen Huntsman for today, because I think it is one of the most universal model that most of the people buy as their first SAK.
As You can see, it did a very good job today.
-
Good job Bojan.
:tu:
-
Good job Bojan.
:tu:
Thanks Guillaume,
I was thinking to carry smaller SAK today, but i saw that you post Midnight manager and i decided to start with Huntsman
-
Not much, I think it's either very rare or people are very attached to it & don't sell it or both. :dunno:
Well good...I'm going to put it up for sale on eBay, and I will make it available to France and all of Europe. I just don't know how much to ask for it. I will try to do a little research.
-
A quick search finds none on eBay, that are available to the USA, anyway. On a European site I found a Huntsman with that INF scale, brand new, I think, for 89 Euros.....
-
I think you can sell it around 100€ :dunno:
-
Day 2: Stayed with a 4 layer today, the Deluxe Tinker. First mundane chore of the day was to put the philips to work.
-
DAY 2 :
Today I carried one of my favourite knives : The SuperTimer!! :climber:
I have just used it to open a package.

DAY 2
Today just a short walk in the park. Usually there is ducks in the bаckгround, but today they were on brеak.
I was carrying Soldier 2011 with me.

Day 2 of 30
Ok, here it is, the other SwissChamp that came in the big box. This one's a bit of a bruiser and I'm keeping it to use.
-
Day 3: Spartan Saturday! Silvertech with unobtanium pocket clip and contrasting blue pin. I started digging through the wife's sewing box in search of pins, and found that the large round headed ones fit with corkscrews. They're also colorful, so I borrowed some... >:D

Cutting some plastic wrap.

Good work Fireman.
 :tu:
-
DAY 3 :
Today, I'm carrying the Excelsior (yup I won't be bothered by the weight today  )
I used it to open a package I received. :mail: :mail:
A black TimeKeeper, I finally got one (with all the booklets / papers)!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :climber:
Maybe I'll use it during this challenge.
-
Wow - excellent news, guibur! :like: :like:

Thx Rizio.

DAY 3
Same park as yesterday, but different place and different knife. Today with me, SOLO.
I have found this one at flea market many years ago, and i have made red leather pouch for it.
On the blade there was engraved "Happy New Year 2004/2005"
-
Day 3 of 30
Grabbed the Super Tinker to cut a shipping label out....

Thanks Surge!

DAY 4 :
I'm carrying Alox MiniChamp today.
No use so far!!
-
That’s a great knife - keep one on my keys as an always there edc no matter what else I have on me! :tu:
-
Yes that's a great one even though I have my 15 year old Signature Lite on my keys.
This Signature Lite is still in great condition not really scratched or anything (even though being on my keys).
I'm planning on replacing it, so I keep it untouched & for collection as it has a great sentimental value (it was my second Victorinox I got (around 11 years old) after the Midnite Manager which has already been staying untouched & for collection for years).
I'm still wondering what I will replace it with though.
:tu:
-
Love the midnite manager too, but was always concerned about it getting scratched up if I kept it my keys, but finding a minichamp alox going cheap in silver seemed the ideal companion for my keys! They’re both amazing given their size, and I’m looking forward to the pocket rocket challenge to give my Sub-91/93s some serious carry time!
-
Day 4: I usually have my black Swisschamp in a pack, not on my waist. Two tools I rarely think about are the hook disgorger/measure and the tiny magnifier, but the print on depth charts isn't getting any larger as I get older. ;)
-
DAY 4
Just to be with the theme today, red Midnite manager on my luminous globe.
Lazy rainy Sunday today, and no special tasks, but special knife for me
-
Day 4!
Here's my ultimate Sunday knife, strutting it's stuff.
And no, it isn't for sale unless I get another one.
-
DAY 5 :
I'm carrying my modded knife today (Compact Woodsman).
The mini tool came in handy this morning, it helped me change batteries in remote sensor (temperature).
:hatsoff:

Nice work everyone!!
:tu:

Day 5: Wenger Adirondack. I didn't want this knife, but it was included with one a really wanted. Then, I started to like it. For some reason I like the way Wenger did the notch in the celidor for the awl, and the locking blade has a gadgety appeal. :)
It hasn't done anything today except pose for the photo, but we'll be working in the garden later and I'm sure I'll use it there.

-
This pocket worn Tinker Small came in the big box. I need to get it on the Bay.
-
DAY 5
Today I was on a short hike. I was carrying big SAK with me, Wenger Ranger 102.
I was lucky about the weather, it was sunny today. I like this one because it is very light.

Day 6 of 30
The simple Floral Knife.....
-
DAY 6 :
Soldier 08.
:hatsoff:
-
Day 6
Preparing my bike for a ride. Fixing the breaks with my Swisstool.
In my pocket was climber. And of course the Three Musketeers were too lazy to help.
First one is Meetball, and he is ignoring me today
-
Day 6: I bought my first Victorinox circa 1985, a Climber. I've carried it off and on since then and miraculously I never lost it. Today it helped open medicine for me and mulch for the plants.

He obviously has no interest in SAKs.

Soldier and Swisstool.... two more I don't have!

DAY 7 :
PX Winter Magic 2020 : a beauty.
We had some snow today, knowing where I live (nearby Nice, France) I think this planet is haywire...

We had some in Hampshire yesterday too - though Easter snowfalls are not unknown round here, unlike Nice!!
-
DAY 7
I use vintage SAKs not very often, but for this chalenge I have decided to use almost all of it. For today my choice was
vintage Victoria farmers knife. This one have small serrated curved blade, I haven't seen another one like this, and I think
that maybe serrations are not factory made, and those are great for peeling an orange :D. I really like this vintage carbon
blades (who doesn't) with natural patina.
And ofcourse here is a cup of coffee, because I am a coffee maniac. In my country most famous is so called turkish coffee,
but now i have made espresso.
-
Day 7: Hiking with Herc.
-
As usual I carried my old style Hunter to work with me today. I think the kids cut a few drying stickers with it. Last week I literally sawed through a hickory board with it because I was too lazy to go and get a chainsaw. I think it took about the same amount of time and effort.
-
DAY 8 :
Forester today!
-
DAY 8
I was trying new combination today. GAK & Wenger traveler wich is first time out with me.
It seems to be excellent pair. I really like scissors and woodsaw with the blade.
-
Day 8: Wenger Pocket Tool Chest, with the pocket clip and glow ring so I can find the little guy. ;)
-
Day 8.
As usual, I used the Farmer that somebody gave me as the keyring for the sawmill. It also does other tasks. One of 4 I currently take to work with me.
-
Looking great everyone!!
-
Looking great everyone!!
Thanks! This is my kind of challenge!
I'm also excited that I now have at least two three models of SAK on the way that I've never yet had.....so they will no doubt make an appearance before the end of the month. :D

Thanks!!

???
That's strange. I could have sworn I went to bed earlier than 2 AM.
I also could have sworn I posted that late last night, but before midnight. It says I posted it at 2 AM. Well, it was the post for yesterday not today. And whenever I posted it, I was still up. :ahhh
-
Day 9 of 30.
Economy Huntsman. 3 point shield, tomato orange color, and no hook or t & t.
-
Day 9: Something unusual for me, a mid-1980s Diplomat. I'm in the "the more tools, the better" camp of SAK owners, so I've always found this wanting. Most of its life has been spent in my locker at work.

Been following this thread off and on, and really enjoying the variety of SAKs I've seen! :like:

Bantam today.
-
DAY 9
Wanted to share a photo of my black EDC, and my two new knives that i recently won on a GAW from Lisa,
black Spartan and Stone River NRA. They match perfectly. ;)
-
I think it's a Director.
That shows you how little I use it. It could be a Freudian slip, because I'd rather have a Diplomat than a Director. Let's hope I don't call my wife by some other name today.

Ha. That reminds me of a little story:
A preacher was attending a conference in another city and bumped into one of his old preacher friends from college, who was also attending the conference with his wife.
"Hi--oh, man, I'm sorry, I know you, but I'm blanking out on what your name is," the first preacher said apologetically.
"That's okay, it's Bob," said the second preacher. "And your name is Bill. I remember you too."
"I wish I didn't have this problem of forgetting everybody's name," Bill said. "I must be getting old."
"No older than me," said Bob. "Don't feel bad. I used to have the same problem, but not anymore."
"How's that?" Bill asked.
"Well, my wife here was so frustrated with me not remembering people's names, that she signed me up for a special course I took online. It has a special sequence of exercises you practice, and completely cures you. In just four weeks, it completely solved my problem."
"Sounds like I ought to take that course, too," Bill said. "What's it called?"
"Ah let's see," said Bob. "Let me think. It's like some kind of a flower. Um, poppy. No--tulip. No, that's not it. Daisy? Uh-uh. Rose! That's it, Rose." He turned to his wife. "Rose, what was the name of that course I took?"
-
DAY 10 :
Carrying Signature Lite today.
My second Vic I got, nearly 15 years ago!!
-
Day 10 of 30.
Well this one may be the oldest one I have..... it's certainly the oldest one in my semi permanent personal collection. It's the one I particularly call my ROTS, or Ragged Old Trusty Spartan. It may be as old as I am, or nearly. It has several of the old school features, including the 5- ring cork extractor, the blind awl, lack of Tnt, and the clip point auxiliary blade.
It's also been through 5 or 6 world wars and 17 droughts and 2 or 3 great depressions. Not to mention 36+ trips through the washing machine.
Ok, that paragraph was fiction, sorry.
Damage includes a mangled can opener screwdriver, and a scorched cutout-side scale.
This was almost the first one I ever bought, when I remembered last November or December that I always wanted a SAK.
I currently keep it as a butler at my home office area, and rarely take it outside the house. One of its primary duties these days is using the bottle opener screw driver to pry open stuck and dirty blades and tools on new batches of used knives I get in.
-
Day 10: I put on some weight today. ;)
A skinny Director yesterday...
and hefty Handyman today :D

Day 11: Soldier Sunday!
-
I reckon I will take the black Camper to church with me this morning. It doesn't see much use, since everything it has is also on my Ranger, SwissChamp, and any random Huntsman I pick up.
Anybody wondering about this Bible, it's a special One Year Bible. It is divided up into daily portions to help you read through it in a year. It has daily sections from the Old Testament and New Testament, and specifically a passage from Psalms and from Proverbs for each day.

DAY 11
Few days ago I have found vintage 40P victorinox 1908 model soldiers knife. That was a really nice surprise for me.
Today i have decided to clean it and give it a little fix. Tip of the blade and one scale were broken, I have used some
tools and epoxy glue. I have made it razor sharp. Result was excellent.

Shipping it out today.

Outrider in the park with me today. I have always looked at this one like a big huntsman. The set of tools is nearly perfect, it would be perfect
with plus file and OHO blade.
-
It's not the same price either :ahhh
Very true. I sold mine for $35. The standard DT has MSRP of about $50.99 so I was happy to get $35 for a slightly used one.
-
Day 12: Rambler. I'm bad about checking pockets for tiny things, losing tiny things, and this is sort of a last resort knife for me. Hence, the paracord to wear it as a neck knife.

Yet another model I don't have yet. My, I like that one. Very nice.
For the record, I only have one 111mm knife right now, and have only had 3 so far.

DAY 13 :

DAY 13
Today I have used my Dual pro for the first time. It's a nice discontinued model that deserves to be in this challenge.
It is a good knife for preparing mushrooms.
-
Day 13: Nikki, aka Tinker. I was at an outdoor class all morning, so I haven't had a chance to do anything with her yet.

Day 13 of 30
Here's one of my new models that I just got in the mail. Explorer. Never had one before. Needs a scale. Used my sawmill SwissChamp pliers to put a new scissor spring in the Explorer.
Sometimes I feel like my eBay ship is more of a repair bay shop.....

DAY 14.
I was working on a electron microscope today in laboratory. Pioneer X was with me, and the scissors were great for preparing
small samples for observation.

Thanks guys, I'm planing to work on another interesting instrument these days, so i will post pictures
SAKS are very useful tools in laboratories, especially when you do not have time to search for one proper tool
to do a simple task. It save much time. But I cant get used to my colleagues to carry one in their pockets.

DAY 15 :
Halfway!!
Opening package today with Hunter XT.

Day 15 of 30. Halfway there, and I haven't shown you a 58mm yet!

Oooooo I wonder what's in there!
Inside the box it's Evowood 10 Swiss Spirit 2019 that a Friend & Vic collector just gave me (brand new).
It was missing & I wanted the complete Swiss Spirit collection.
I should receive Swiss Spirit 2021 Climber wood tomorrow :woohoo: :mail:

DAY 15
In my country we call these flowers "kacunka"
And those are first signs of spring. I thought that it would be a great foto combination with
interesting model Bijou. Basically clasic without keyring. Discontinued model that I did not
know exist.

Ah, very interesting! What is your primary language? I'm not very familiar with life in Macedonia. I know it's near Greece.

Very nice! Is that the same flower as Edelweiss?
-
Ah, very interesting! What is your primary language? I'm not very familiar with life in Macedonia. I know it's near Greece.
Primary language is Macedonian, and nothing special about life here. There are many beautiful places for hiking and fishing.
Few of it are national parks and under UNESCO. I have a privilege to live in a city that has few mountains very near, so when i
go hiking I need about 20 minutes from my home and I am in deep forest.
And Edelweiss are different flowers than kacunka :)

DAY 19
It was a rainy day, so i was at home all the time. My SAK companion was Signature.

Day 20: The old blue Recruit. It's still early, and the only place I could find enough light to show that it's blue was the plant stands.

I will try to finish this challenge with different SAK for every day. I'm in vintage mood today, so i have picked my oldest three face wenger officer's knife to be in my pocket. This one is not a user, just carrying it from time to time. The sheath is my work.

DAY 24
I was changing the hard drive on my old PC. Swisschamp did it's job nice. Pliers and phillips screwdriver are tools used today.
Interesting about this knife is that It has old style magnifying glass, and new style metal file. I have send it for reparation in Ibach few years ago,
and when it came back it had nice combination of those tools that i like very much.
