I had some time to myself this morning and with the weather being nice I decided to have some time out to enjoy it. Locally known as "the blue door walk" 'cos, you know, you go through a blue door in a wall to access the area. We're a literal sort up here.
I'm not going to annotate every pic, but if you want to know something please ask. There's even a chance I'll have an answer. ;)

That looks really beautiful Gareth! Thanks for taking us along :salute:
One question: the structure in the second last photo,is it a folly,or was it a proper something?
-

As far as I know it's a folly.

It would be easy to assume I'd turned up the green tone in the pics, but I really didn't. My iconograph's little Imp was fast running out of green paint by the end.

Oops, I forgot one. :-[
Not my finest pic, but I'm pleased that I got it; a red squirrel. I'm very happy that I live in an area where these little guys are doing well. He was clinging to the trunk of the tree when I first spotted him, but by the time I got the camera up he'd scurried away. Glad he didn't disappear from view completely.

Fabulous pics Gareth - Beautiful spot!
And definitely not your typical Scottish pics or landscape
Green meadows, deciduous woods and a bubbling brook. Whaaat?
Where are the dramatic mountains, precipitous waterfalls, wild moorland, pine forests and mystical lochs
Are you in Fife? And does the Blue Door lead into the estate grounds.
Definitely a bit 'Middle Earth' tho.

Not Fife, further north in Angus. :) The area is just outside of the village of Edzell. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edzell) Yes, AFAIK it was part of an estate at one point.

Not my pic, but the sign on the door might tell you more than I can.

Lol, they will all be black. I'm not off till late and then by the time I get where I'm going and meet my walking partner, it will be dark out. My phone has a hard enough time in daylight...
I will get to try out a comparison between my MH20 and MH20GT flashlights though. :tu:
-
That'll do. :tu:

As soon as you said Edzell it sounded familiar
I thought I had played rugby there, but when I looked it up on the map, I remembered my company had a golf day at Edzell golf course.
I am not a golfer but went along for the free drink ride.
Beautiful spot. :)
This would have been in about 1992/3 when I was living in Stonehaven and working in Aberdeen.
.... And when all I had was a Vic Hunstman - but it was in my pocket every day.
Happy days :D

Awesome pics.
I'm still trying to work out what that cow is up to though...

Do you think he herd them coming
I'll get my coat an be off now :D
-
Well, I got out for a stroll. As predicted, it was dark and my phone was not up to pictures.
I did get a chance to try out my flashlights.
MH20 is better for close-in work due to it having more flood and less hotspot.
MH20GT is amazing for lighting up the trail over distance. This thing throws light like a boss! It's also great if you want to sear the retinas of anything caught in it's beam path.
Summary: They are both fantastic lights with ridiculous output for their size. I'll take the MH20 for EDC as it works better in the close quarters I typically need a light in. I'll take the GT if I'm going outdoors.

Nice one mate, they both look like cracking lights. :tu:
