Title: Fox Vulpis
Post by: RF52 on June 12, 2023, 08:48:16 PM
Anyone had a look at the Fox knives Vulpis?
Looks to be a Vic competitor with m390 blade steel.

Saw them on the Heinnie Haynes mailout.
Not my style, but reasonable price for a metal-scaled SAK-a-like and could be interesting... Maybe wait for Felix to do a comparison vid.

That's exactly what I'd do. The Vulpis does look like a potentially worthwhile purchase, though.

He did such a fair SAK comparison with the Swiza last time.

I was also curious about the Ruike LD51, so perhaps that and the equivalent  Vulpis model would make for a good comparison video trio?

Like the MKM Malga, this will be priced way higher than a Vic. And as such not really a competition, more a collectors/enthusiast Sunday alternative.
Correction... the aluminium version is quite reasonably priced (around $55 for the model with scissors). So, still a good deal more expensive but not prohibitve.

Prices that I’ve seen look to be between $40 and $125 depending on model.  Street price might end up being a bit cheaper.  And at the higher end of the price range, you’re getting premium materials like CF, Ti, and M390.  If the quality is there and all the tools are functional, then these knives will be good value for the money.

I paid $80 for the titanium one with scissors and saw at Blade Show. The tool is well done but was a little gritty initially.
