Title: Heavy Japanese sterling silver ring
Post by: nuphoria on July 22, 2009, 03:05:50 PM
Hey chaps,

This is a ring I bought in error (too frickin big) and I got it for a great price so thought I could sell it on as such. It's made by a fairly small designer called Shamballa in Japan and their range is hellishly difficult to get hold of outside Japan I believe. I picked this one up second hand for a steal - they are stupid money over there. To your door for £29 or extra for outside of the UK (pm me).

Details: Hand carved flowers, 2mm thick, 8mm wide, 20mm internal diameter. Size approx 10 1/4 US, UK size U or about 62.2mm internal circumference. Weight 20gm. I think that covers it. I have given it a light polish since the stock pics were taken so it's even shinier now :D

I believe it's not the same company - if you look at their collection it's all precious stones etc, this silver comes from a Japanese site (which I understand nothing of!) which has cheaper jewellery:

Their current collection is here I think:

Hmm, dunno then
I though they were separate entities judging by the range. It's a nice ring for a good price - that's all I know :)

exact same logo on both sites, maybe those guys designed it for production (or whatever you would call that)?

Not trying to be annoying or anything   but just a quick translation..

                                                                                                                            (シャンバラ/New York)

                                                                                                                           (Shamballa/New York)
A Danish photographer Mads Kornerup started the brand (shamballa) with an inspiration from traditional Indian and Nepalese religious art. The incorporation between eastern and western art makes his collection exotic and stylish.

So it is basically this Danish dude who is now based on NY sells his jewelry internationally. Although it doesn't resemble anything Japanese to my eyes, it looks like a nice ring.
Good luck with your sale!
