Well i'll always have my edc of some description so i won't be coming "bare" :)
And hell no to fat free munchies!! Then it means you can't steal them :pok: :D :D
Just thought ;)
I'll bring my Lansky Sharpening system...
anyone got a Sharpmaker?
I fancy doing a comparison between the two.
If you want lights...I shall bring my collection of Cree LED's and Fenix along with a few others.Despite not being a Jamie I seem to have aquired a few torches ::)
Don't worry Mike I know you hate "Jamie syndrome" but uit gets very dark where we're going :-X
Micky...just got that same torch in the post TODAY :cheers:Yeah it's a bit good :), brilliant for searing the retinas of the uninitiated :D :D
How good is that strobe :D

Neil
I'll just chuck as much as I can in the car.
At this rate, I may well have a second "Big Red Shiny Toolbox", one for Leatherman, one for lesser tools :P
An aside - we should have something to commemorate the event. Something like a Vic Classic with the dates on or something? Affordable, but worth keeping. Anyone got any ideas on that?
Gerber Artifact? Or Shard if it's available by then?An Artifact would be a great idea, I seriously doubt the Shard will be available in time :-\
Gerber Artifact? Or Shard if it's available by then?
Gerber Artifact? Or Shard if it's available by then?
Yes! I'm seriously tempted by one of those anyway, so that gets my vote.
Well I guess any local engravers would do them, if indeed they can be engraved (?). Didn't Def have some MT.O ones available from somewhere? Or did I dream that?He did, but the guy who does them also charges $35 to ship to the UK ::)

Potentially 15%...
It needs looking into, but somewhere around £10-£15 doesn't seem that unlikely?
Yeah - I'll dig around and see what we can come up with. Thanks mate :tu:
Wicked idea...I was looking into embroidered patches earlier today but the minimum order makes it uneconomically viable.
Just bear in mind we can't legally carry the artifact...I would want to carry out memento anywhere.
Then again we can just remove the exacto blade :police:

To be honest I'll just pick up my box of SAKs, highlights are;Count me in for seeing the Sabre mate
Wenger NewRanger 78
Old soldier 1946
A couple of my custom jobs
What a Supertool looks like that has been carried every day for more than 6 years.
I'll also bring a few fixed blades, a couple of folders and a random selection of axes. Would anyone be interested in seeing a nice old Military sabre?
Will do then. :DWhat year is it ???
It's an officers' piece and so hasn't any issue stamps but the general form and style put it around 1780's-1820's.That's beautiful
Not a great pic but it's the bottom one show here. The scabbard is one I had made up for it.
the top one is a 1885 troopers sword.
Has anyone got a few tarps we can rig up by the fire?I've got a couple of poncho's, and I can probably steal a poly dustsheet from work if necassary :)
I would love a Royal Navy Sword from around 1780 - 1820 . How much are they worth. At a guess lot's, because I doubt many survived the harsh conditions terribly well, let alone the number that went down with the lads that carried them :(
Dunc

Yeah, but you're more likely to find a Royal Navy one than a French navy one. :D
or a Royal Navy Service issue flintlock pistol :drool:So you quite a fan of his now then ;)
Think it might be best to stick with multitools and just read about Swords and pistols in my Alexander Kent books :D

Are they "engravable"? :think:Well I can do it with the awl on a Farmer easily enough :D
Good idea though

A tenner sounds nice Dave. :DSeeing as we're paying so much to get there a tenner does sound good :D
Did I mention the £50 camping fee
And damn decent of him it was too :salute:Did I mention the £50 camping fee
Yes you did and Ryan said he would pay for everyone. ;)
Would £15 each cover everything? Engraving etc?
Well I'm happy for whatever, but £15 for an Artifact seems a bit heavy to me TBH. I have absolutely no other suggestions though.
If everyone is happy with that, so am I. :)
Not when I have seen normal ones listed here for £6.

Have you? Where?
How about an engraved 58mm SAK?

Personally, some thing useful would be better for me, but I'm losing enthusiasm for this task rapidly here.....
That's certainly a bit different, and would get my vote :)

Are we all going to snuggle?
C'mon gang....I can't wait. Lets make this happen sooner :salute:
OK if we have to wait then so be it....but lets at least consider a meetup sooner rather than later :drink:
Oh...forgot that.....No we all do it together or not at all.Be patient, my very young apprentice :jedi: :D

Ok how about a poll, for the MT.O meet up tool ???
I was going to say something crude, then remembered it's a family forum ::) :DOk how about a poll, for the MT.O meet up tool ???
Nah....I don't fancy a "poll" for a tool. :P
I'm looking now, but the Signature does look good, as it has a lot of utility, and it's a little bit different too on account of the pen :)
How about a Fisher Space Pen (no idea how much they are now?)

The Bullet is over £15 I think and that's without anything else.
I'll go along with whatever, but as it's the multitool.org meet-up, maybe a multi-tool would be a good idea?Don't knock em till you've tried them mate, there handy little buggers :)
I can't really take those little classics seriously......

I have tried them. The only use I've found for the one I've got is hot-cutting paracord. It's made a bit of a mess of it, but it manages.
I use my littlies more than my 91's.
Dave, any other thoughts?
Too late, I've drunk my souvenir money now :drink:
Too late, I've drunk my souvenir money now :drink:Any excuse ::) :D
I really don't think that being legal EDC is that important tbh. I'm pretty sure that anything we get for £15 isn't going to replace any of my EDC anyway, it's surely just a memento to be displayed somewhere?

Nick said a few pages ago how he wanted it to be legal so he could carry around a momento with him and I liked that idea.

I don't really have 58mm SAKs so any one would do me fine. I know I'd have more use for one than I would an Artifact. Sebertool would work for me too.
If you loved us Dave, you'd make a custom SAK with wooden scales for us all to remember the occasion. :D

You have to take a side Gareth, you can stop the "reasonable pacifist" crap. :D
Would £15 each cover everything? Engraving etc?
Yup - if we can get a few more takers.....
Here is an idea.....I'll think you'll my vocabulary is a tad broad :twak: :D
Everyone lets sleep on it.
For my part I will make everyone that attends a paracord bracelet so that can be one legal EDC that will remind everyone that attended of what happened on that fateful day.
(I know....but they are the only things I can make with any sort of skill :-[)
Anything else that springs to mind can wait until later in the week.
Lets just remember the reason we are doing this as I for one do not want it to become a headache.
Now we have the paracord things, the urgency will go from the task and it will become less onerous (Micky that means "causing mental as well as physical strain")
Remember gang, "united in tools, divided in mementoes." :D

You might kill me for this, but I think (being totally honest) that the tools are a secondary reason for being there.
Its a shared interest and the "togetherness" is what most of us attending will be after (almost brings a tear to my eye)

How about a fine grit one of these http://www.axminster.co.uk/product.asp?pf_id=21926&name=dmt&user_search=1&sfile=1&jump=44 the metal backing should be able to be engraved no problem :)

Neil you've a good point there :), maybe we could have them etched instead
Etched should work. How would the adhesive on the rough side handle the heat from a laser? Again, I don't know. Chemical etching is an option but unless you really know what you're doing you can end up with a rough looking job. What about having them printed? They will be in a pouch so there shouldn't be a problem with stuff wearing off.

You think a printer that can print on CD's would be able to do it? Not that i have one but i'm sure one of the Brits must have  Give it a layer of laquer or something just to seal it on a bit? :)
