Anyway to add "like post" to the software? I've seen it over at EDCF and I think it's pretty cool ;)
-
Like has no much statistical meaning without dislike accompanying it. To stand out from other banal forums, we might add a third button, let's say the it's kirky's fault or something.

Yeah and a Monrogue is lame button. :tu:
-
LOL!
-
I mean Morgue is not lame.
-
On a more serious note, the only downside to that would likely be lowering the amount of posts in response to things and likely the conversations that follow. Most of the pictures posted would then just get "liked" rather than people getting back to one an other. Just another thought.

Good point.
Not to mention the Monrogue tears when nobody likes him. Oh wait we already have that.

Maybe adding a like button will cause a site wide epidemic where everyone unwillingly carries a skeletool and ends up like Harley.....

We can only hope.

Thankfully I will be able to fight this epidemic, should it occur....and I will be the cure to this Harley virus :pok:

I like to call it the Harley solution but whatever.

We had been discussing it on and off for years now. Apparently we had something along those lines with Karma points (likes and dislikes) years ago before my time and it didn't go off so well.
There was a plan to implement it as a 8th Anniversary bonus but we kind of got sidetracked with all the giveaways and stuff.
Maybe soon. ;) Discussions are on the way again.
-
Oh, and no, it would'n be linked to Facebook in any way. ;)
-
I'm undecided. Sometimes I think it can be quite nice, and other times it can be quite polarising, particularly when there's an exchange of views. They had the like function on a gardening forum I was on for a while, and to be honest I think replying to show your appreciation/agreement/disagreement/reservations is better than just clicking a "like" button. That said, sometimes a really good post is made and it would be nice to click "like" rather than read 27 "well said" comments afterwards :D
I'm happy either way to be honest, so long as it doesn't cause too much of a headache for our Micah :D

Thank :serverloft: for that :D

We don't approve of how the built in karma option can be negative towards a thread/user.
However we seem to have 2 possible contenders for options, one is "Like" the other "Thank" both should not give me much grief to install.
Perhaps "like" should be by a different name to avoid confusion with facebork linked likes...
-
I do see the point at all. Do whatever as long as I don't have to use it.

Either like or thanks or whatever. Around here it really wouldn't matter as everyone always, always comments and gets sidetracked :pok:
-
Sidetracked... don't be ridicul... OH! Squirrel.

Steve, come visit the No Lifer board
Seems there's something you missed. ;)

True, he might like it. ;)

I for one am not keen on the idea at all. Can't stand the feature on Facebook and never use it. I guess if it gets implemented...I just will try to ignore it on principle.

Same here, no likes for you or at least no likes in the form of a clicked button... I rather say I like your photos, they are splendid :tu:
