I keep :drool: over the Cyber Tool (34 or 41) but can't get past the fact that out of 4 double-sided bits, only the Phillips #2/Flat are really of any use to me. I wish they offered more options of Phillips and Flat bits and for this reason, I'm having trouble making the leap.
Does anyone else have an issue with the limitation of available bits?
Are there additional bits I'm not aware of that I could supplement with?

Aside from the standard bits you get with each CT also there are the ones supplied with the XXLT and XAVT ..
Slotted 3x1 and Slotted 4x1
Torx 6 and Torx 8
Hex 1.2 and Hex 1.5
Hex 2 and Hex 2.5
Its a shame there isn't a larger selection. Considering your requirements I'd just stick with a tool that has a phillips driver and a can opener :-\

While I see where you are coming from, and the lack of a better variety does kinda suck, I actually very much like the assortment that comes with the Cybertool. I use the Torx a lot for other knives, and they are the only Torx drivers I usually have handy, so they are a big plus for me.

the real shame is that they are non standard size, so there's no swapping out with bits you actually need... but I guess that would make it huger than it already is...

That size of bit is actually pretty standard but what stops you swapping around is that the Vic. ones have a little ball in the side to retain them.

I agree. My job involves a lot of taking things to bits and putting them back together, and the cybertool seemed like the perfect emergency toolkit for work. I got hold of the hex bits (not easy), but there are no 3, 5 or 6mm size bits, so I eventually swapped it for a (much larger) Spirit Plus.
Out of interest, who uses Torx screws? Nothing against them, just that I've hardly ever seen them used.

They get used in knives a lot, I also see them in electronics here and there. My car actually uses quite a few Torx. I had to use my cybertool to rip my dash apart in my Grand Prix to replace some light bulbs. They aren't incredibly common, but I actually seem to run into them quite a bit. Hell the Mass Air Sensor in my car is held in by security Torx with the little post in the middle. Personally I like 'em a lot and kinda wish they would be used more often, especially in applications that normally use Allen. I find Torx to be a lot more resistant to stripping out and I can torque down on even the smallest ones pretty hard without worrying about rounding it off.

Mobile phones and other electronics often use them. I grabbed the T6 for my CT because of that.

...not to mention that when you bugger up an Allen head, often hammering in a Torx bit will save the day. ::)

The bits suit me pretty well. For knife servicing it works really well.

I'm pretty sure that Wiha's Micro Bits will fit the CyberTool's driver. They aren't double-ended, but there is a huge selection.

Last time I checked they didn't have the ball bearing but I do remember hearing that they made some with.
I think if I was buying a set I'd want to be able to check a pack in store rather than grabbing online.
Ironically considering they're German I found all my online searches brought up US results and none for the UK (can only find .25" bits here).
