Title: Traditional knives and coffee
Post by: G-Dizzle on November 04, 2016, 05:01:32 PM
We have a lot of "... and coffee" threads here on MTO but I searched and could not find one for traditionals. If there is one and I missed it, feel free to point me in the right direction. If not, consider this thread started! Hopefully it sticks. Traditional knives are growing on me more and more. Love the look and history of all the different designs.

Here is a picture of my new Case Peanut with my coffee.

The coffee certainly fits the theme.

Sitting here and look on those pics, I remember that I have a Peanut
But I never carried it because the spring of the small scissor is so weak
The walk & talk of the blade is really good for such a small knife.
What's your experience with "regular" modells?

Grumbling old fart.

that coffee looks good

Its roasted by a veteran and family friend who owns a micro roaster near where I live. His business is called The Canteen Cup (i think he is online). The kind that I got is super smooth and strong. An unusual combination to me. Its really, really good.

Thank you Barry. The older ones I have are good knives. The older Barlows with the truck tread covers are good, tough knives but the fit and finish on some of them isnt very good,     :tu:   I have a newer Barlow that is good for the money. It has a stainless blade. The fit and finish is excellent. Pull is good has good walk and talk  Overall its a good knife  I'll post a pic of it over in the Barlow thread in a bit.

I had a chance to handle several traditionals last night, including a Case Congress and Sowbelly.  I was amazed at how comfortable they both were in the hand.  The Sowbelly really fit.
