Title: Add another one to the list
Post by: prime77 on February 08, 2007, 08:37:33 PM
I found this while looking at the Wenger website. It's called Ranger 75

Very nice- I think I'll have to harass my friend at Wenger a little more....

I'd found this Ranger 14 folding scissor tool on the European Wenger site, but had not been aware of the folding plier tool. It apparently is only available on the Wenger North American site.

The Wenger NA website has the Ranger folding scissors on their website as well

Yeh, I noticed, but I see the blade selection is slightly different....

I didn't even notice that. All I was looking at was the scissors.

The handle scales appear to be different too. The NA site ones look somewhat evo-esque.

If you do speak with him, ask howcum the they didn't put the one-hand opening knife blade on the plier tool also.

They have them on the plain Rangers, but not the plier or scissor Rangers.

It's discrimination I tell ya!

The whole line will be eventually changing over to the EVO style grips I would imagine.  I think that's a great idea since we haven't had an obvious upgrade to SAK styling in many years- The last major overhaul was in the 60's when they started "hiding" the rivets and then shortly afterwards removed the bail.

As for why there's no OH blade available on a variety of models, well my contact at Wenger hasn't even gotten his hands on one of the OH models yet, so he can't answer that!

I imagine it will just be a matter of time.

My Wenger rep is projecting to fill my order for Rangers by early to mid March which I'm thinking will be Aprilish.
