I'm looking at a picture of a SAK.
It's next to a 91mm model, so I know it's 84mm. It's got red Alox scales with the old style cross on it, and old style grind on the can opener (which is a Vic style opener, hence knowing it's an 84).
It's 2 layers. Large blade, caplifter/flathead and can opener/small flathead... and an awl. The kind in the same layer as the main blade. Like on the 93mm frame.
No keyring.
What IS it? I'm stumped. It's like a mini Pioneer. Is it just an unusual Cadet variant? I also see in the SAKwiki that some Cadet II models came with no keyring but don't see any mention of awl replacing nail file/second blade.

Why aren't we looking at a picture too? :pok: :worthless:
Sounds like a mod to me - AFAIK there has never been a Cadet with an awl.

Mmm...
Looking at more pics, and it might have been a weird distortion of the 91mm having multiple layers LOOKING longer than a 93mm. But it's weird.
It's an ebay listing.

I think it's just an optical illusion in the first picture.

That's 93mm. :tu:
You can tell by the texture on the scales (coarser than the 84mm) and the placement of the middle rivet (central, rather than closer to the blade pivot).
-
Yeah, optical illusion in the first pic.

I reckon a lot of people would like an 84mm Pioneer, though. Be a great alternative or companion to the Cadet. :)

Yep, first pic ils really weird with sak order:
The 91mm is thicker so its front scale is closer to us, AND the moneyclip is a lot smaller so the eye is waiting for a progressive decrease in size from the left to right
Hence that pretty neat illusion ;-)
