Why is there only the classic binary option male/female, and blank, in the profile?
How about all the other options as requested by the LGBTQ+ community?
How are these MTO members supposed to express their given Gender?
-
Which options? I am a little naive and ignorant.
-
You can be blank dks.
-
why?

What about us non non-binary trans-transgender members with binary opposed attractions?
-
see, it is a big issue that affects many members and it should not be swept under the carpet.
-
Things were simpler in the old days. It didn't say "Gender", it said "Sex", and you could answer "yes please". These days you have to write a much longer "Isn't it smurfing obvious, you moron?" and then waste several minutes vociferously expressing to underpaid staff, just loud enough for management to hear, how offended you are that someone felt the need to question your identity, then casually glance around for anyone who appears to be resenting my binary identity, so I know who I need to sit next to and moan about it to for the next half hour.
-
Jesting aside, it does annoy me that the question (in many real life scenarios) should be needed at all. In an equal society (which we're supposedly striving for), the answer is irrelevant, so why ask.

As a friend Deeks I don't judge you and have always treated you the same as my normal friends :salute:
-
I don't really get why a multi-tool forum has a gender declaration option at all. :dunno:
-
For statistics – and to stop drunken members from flirting with a “Gender” they are not interested in (when sober).
Normal is not defined by gender only but by many other special factors :)
-
preconfigured with the forum software.
as pointed out, you are not required to specify anything.
While I would have no problem adding options, I can't see it bringing any actual benefit and may actually cause unneeded friction from some less accepting members.
This is a multitool forum, not tinder.

I’ve changed mine to blank, deeks. :tu:

Join me, everyone! :pok:

I really have no problem being a male  it isn't like it is an invasion of privacy and if one doesn't feel like they need to answer then fine :dunno: but seriously 2 options is the vast majority of the world and it almost seems as though dks is just trying to get something started ??? and you all lot that are backing him is only fueling him, so if you all wouldn't mind please drop this :salute:

This is not a serious thread, by the way, before people get too wound-up

I know that but last time we let a thread that wasn't serious go (with a questionable topic) then we had peeps get serious and problems arised :salute:

I only know about this.........issue.......thanks to youtube videos....thankfully.
Although I firmly believe everybody is free to get their jollies in whatever consensual way they choose, I'm just too old for the drama surrounding this...issue
In some video somebody mentioned his wife is an MD, and no matter what you identify as, the doc needs to know what plumbing you have to make a correct diagnosis......
Seems kinda obvious....

My tools like being used. I might get picky about who fondles my tools, but they don't. So... gender. Meh. It's the internet. We probably aren't even here. We're probably some figment of Grant's id running amok while he sleeps.
And Deeks, I still suspect you're a space hampster sent to spy on humanity. I thought space hamsters reproduced by fission. :D

fusion... :)

fusion... :)
???
So two space hamsters become one?
That doesn’t sound very viable in the long term.

Ah, but you see, they do it in negative time direction. So that they start out as the heat death of the universe and proceed to fuse till there is but one space hamster who is the big bang... :D

I type therefore I am! Thinking or the ability to think has long stopped being a required criteria.

I suspect the fusion method is more akin to that of some deep-sea angler fish.

I respect and understand the original poster's request, though, gender and sexual preference (and/or orientation) are different things, aren't they? If for some reason they are not, then don't bother reading the rest :) :dunno: For identification purposes gender declaration makes sense (e.g. when the name is unisex), though I do not care about anybody's sexual orientation, that is that person's personal and private thing.
That being said, by nature we humans can have one of 2 sexes only (again, orientation is not what I'm talking about here and I'm excluding hermaphrodites now). Transgender persons who have undergone a transition from a male body to a female prefer to be called "she/her" in English (and the opposite). I have not encountered one transgender person who prefers otherwise. Thus, a two-gender option seems to be sufficient IMHO.
-
How about a replacement 'Are you human?' option? Oh wait a second, I have a feeling that the only ones who will click 'yes' will be the bots... :D
