Bill and I have collaborated on this project for some time and it's finally complete - A Hard Anodized (HAIII) SAK. The Farmers have to be disassembled (only Aluminum can be anodized), acid and wire brush stripped, sent for anodizing, then reassembled. It is very and time intensive (Bill does all the work). These are offered exclusively by the FELINEVET Shop at: http://felinevet.sosakonline.com (http://felinevet.sosakonline.com)

That's a real beauty of a knife guys, great work! 8)

That is truly stunning, awesome work fella's, I just wish I had the dosh for one :(
-
That is awesome and very tempting! :)

Thanks guys for the positive comments. For the collector there won't ever be another chance after this color run. For the user, it offers the kind of durability in colored Alox that everyone wants. I know they are expensive but due to the work and cost of anodizing it costs a lot to make them. However, as an introductory offer for MT members, I am taking $10. off. If you want one, you can PayPal $65. direct to felinevet@sosakonline.com

I got mine today. Thanks Tim!
The finish is beautiful on these--to the eye and to the touch. It appears to be VERY tough and, of course, the fit and finish is perfect.

That's something else we are going to need plenty of pics of then. :)

Don't think for a minute that I didn't know that was coming. ::) The Farmer line-up pics are coming. Be patient, grasshoppa.

I used the knife quite a bit last night and I have to say, without a doubt, this is going to quickly become my favorite Farmer for carry. The grip that the hard anodized finish gives the knife is so much better than the original type II. The only thing I can compare it to is the finish on a Surefire flashlight. The color is the same dark grey with somewhat of a 'greenish' tint. It has a definite military look.
All Farmer enthusiasts should own one of these Mike.

Wow, what a subtle hint :D
It's on the wish list, just need the cash now ::)

LOL. I made your name in a really small font size when I typed it in, to make it subliminal. I see that some of my browsers show it that way, some don't.
Perhaps some nice pics will convince you? ;) I didn't get many because it started to rain. :(

It does look stunning , and I do really want one , just lacking in the funds department since they took a third of my hours away at work :(
But one day...one day :)
-
That does look really sweet!
It's a lot greener than I was expecting. Not that that is a bad thing. :)
-
I would definitely call it more of a dark grey than green. Pictures, monitor color profiles, etc. can be deceiving at times.
-
I'd call it charcoal grey, and it really suits such a rugged sak :)

Perhaps now is the time to mention that I am actually colour blind. :D
-

Agreed. It makes a rugged SAK even more rugged. Not only is the anodize much harder, it's twice as thick as the original.
I'm still in awe at Bill's peening skill. The hand-hammered brass pins look better than the factory ones, IMO.

Yeah you've got to imagine it took a fair while to develope that level of skill :)

I agree, charcoal gray is what I would call it.
-
Mike...right...again,...impossible :D

Its funny, speaking to several anodizers, there are only 2 shades available in the HA as far as they know. This one is called "clear" and it comes out dark green. There is also the black you see on lots of stuff out there.
I think the black is cool, but the green ones are my preference.
The stripping process is all dialed in now so other non HA colors are possible too down the line. These scales are worth the effort, but are pretty intense. Lots of strong chemicals, bubbles, gas clouds, fuming nitric acid..... *sniff* reminds me of the good ole days stuck in the lab...
PS. (Terry, the payola check in the mail to ya!!)
