This is the little flat screwdriver found in some Swisscards.
I used to carry one in my wallet but never used it. Anyway i've found it again and was considering putting it back in my wallet or on the keyring.
Is it actually useful or more of a trinket ?
-
what's a trinket?
here a video review of Victorinox Quattro A.7235 ( a7235 ) from the SwissCard:
Victorinox - Tournevis Quattro [A.7235] SwissCard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfU9uQ2rvG8)
It costs like 1.5€ (mas 1.5€ shipping) from places like schweizer-messer-store.de
I would want to try one but am not sure if i can afford it
I wished it had a bottle opener (cap lifter)!!
EDIT: i've ordered 4pcs (1 for meself, 3 for my bud and his teen sons ) for a total of 7.5€ shipped now i'm broke :D
-
Hard to come by here. I'd like to find four or five to have available.
I'd say that it's definitely not a trinket.
-
I like the larger versions (the Sears/Craftsman one is probably the most famous) for better grip, but they're a fine way to keep a little driver for random stuff like tightening up a wriggle on a strike plate or whatever.
-
@PitCarver i've tested a US address on that geman dealer's website and the total is still fair imho. for US shoppers the site doesn't charge tax, so it's for example 2.52€ for 2pcs mas 6.30€ for special shipping option (cums w/o tracking number!) called "Warenpost International 7,50 €", payable thru paypal.
It's a great site for buying vinox small parts (spare parts) cheap shipped!

:drink:
(you must add at least 2pcs of the product in order to unlock Paypal payment option eligibility)
-
Thanks buddy.
-
sorry correction.
the minimum cart value has to be 10.0€ in order to unlock pp payment option eligibility, so a US shopper would lol order 8pcs:

i should get my 4pcs tomorrow or so.
btw i called vinox swissland by phone. they confirmed that this item is manufactured in swissland as all other blades.
-
They won't let me register, with my email, neither one. Keep getting this message. :dunno:
-
are you on the wrong website? the screenshot looks off :hatsoff:
(it's in geman, better not run a live translator engine on it)
anywho one doesn't need to register or create an account. one-time customers can just check out with the cart (tip: proceed in the order process, then at "Zahlungsart" click on "Warenkorb" to go back to the cart view, there you should see your updated prices without tax, etc).
-
It was translated by Google , automatically. I'll try the one time purchase and see what that does.
BTW, I found several other things that'll wind up there also.
-
Received my stuffz. I didn't expect the item to have a flat back

Call it trinket as much as you want, i woht disagree haha :D
Disappears on my bunch of keys and works well, i've tested it on a couple of screw fasteners:
It's very thin and small, and the edges are rounded, so the tool does cam out depending on the condition of the screw head. For sure not a sharp-edged tool like the pro quality bits by Wera Wiha Felo PB Swiss Tools. All in all, for 1.5€ it's a no-brainer.
Just doht pay 8€ shipped on ebay

I thought about getting one of those, but neither Victorinox US nor Swiss Knife Shop seem to offer them. Buying from the EU could be my only option. If that's the cost for shipping from the EU to the US, it isn't terrible.
-
i just shipped 2pcs folded into 2 sheets of xerox paper in an envelope as 20g-international letter for 1.1€ postage from gemani to españa. (lol that's even less than what the shop charged me for national shipping)
am not sure if the xerox disguise will do the trick, but i thought it was worth a try.
we'll see, fingers crossed
-
I just ordered one from Knife Country USA. $3.00 with $10.00 shipping.
-
That's one crazy shipping cost. If ever I buy from Knife Country USA, I'll just take the 45-minute drive up there.
-

good news, the trick has worked, the "invalid" postal letter has reached the destinee in españa!
:drink:
his (waived) total for 2pcs shipped was only 2x1.5+1.5+1.1= you do the maths hh, because of my help of forwarding. his receipt certainly made my day!

Sorry, I mis-typed. I ordered it from Country Knives, not Knife Country USA. It just arrived today, so maybe the $10 was for the fast (1 day) shipping.
-
Everyone likes to complain about shipping costs from time to time. My thoughts are that, for the most part, if it's cheaper than my fuel cost to drive myself, I'll pay.
-
what's a trinket?
Did anyone answer this - Or was it a real question? ???
Anyway a trinket is a toy or plaything or folly or maybe jewelry.
So in this case the op was asking if it's a toy or a real tool that can do the biz!
And of course it is not a trinket - Although may have limited uses due to size!!
Vic dont make any trinkets!!! :pok: :D :o

In the case of Knife Country USA, it would be worth the drive. I'd get much faster gratification and some needed time out of the house. :D

I'd love to have someplace like that nearby. Closest place to me is SMKW and that's nearly 4 hours away. 😟

I've had some of the Cole and Craftsman ones over the years but I would have liked them to have had a true Phillips bit on them.
