Title: 52 Multitool Reviews!
Post by: Grant Lamontagne on July 14, 2007, 03:57:20 AM
I just did a count and it seems that we have 52 different reviews posted on the main site.  I have a couple of reviews I still need to write and post, but I think we are doing pretty good.  I know sometimes we go a while without any new ones, but since this is our anniversary, it looks like we are averaging one new review per week!

Not too shabby I think!

Well, we have a pretty good bunch of contributors here.  I would like to point out that if folks want to write a review of a tool that is already listed on the main site, please feel free.  We do have some duplications already, and a few more never hurt.  If it's one thing we decided on in the early days of this site, it's that no two guys look at the same tool the same way!

That's what makes the Zen of the Plier People so unique!

I have spent the last month updating keywords, descriptions and a few other behind the scenes type work here and on SOSAKOnline so as usual I am a little behind on a few things.  Dave may take care of it shortly, and if not I'll do it.  Just a matter of when.

I've read many of them, but then sort of lost track...

Which are some of the newer ones?

All of the knives section is new, and beyond that we'd have to ask Dave as he's been posting most of them lately.

Funny thing is, when I started this site I would have thought that there we'd be scraping the bottom of the barrel to get 87 reviews!

Now I see we could probably fill a pretty good site with nothing more than variations on the Gerber Multi Pliers!  You never know how ignorant you are of something until you start a site dedicated to it!

I swear I could start a site dedicated to what I had for dinner last night and there would be hundreds of folks join up with much more knowledge on the subject than I do!

The internet is a wacky crazy place and more importantly, we want to learn and talk about anything and everything. Places like this are an outlet, if you wanted to talk about you dinner we can just put it in the breakroom.

You obviously haven't been reading enough SOSAK- it's one of the running jokes in there!

I don't go to sosak over on knifeforum's as much as I used too :-[

Don't get me wrong It's still a good site, but it's not as good as it once was, it seem's to be mostly ebay re-directs these day's :-\ and not nearly as much posting about the tool's themselves

It's odd- you can never please everyone there!  When we talk about using the tools, the collectors and accumulators complain, when we talk about mods I get emails from folks upset that people are modifying them and how I shouldn't allow that!  As if I had any say!

That's why I wanted this place to be reasonably diverse.  If you don't like modding, stay away from the mod forum.  If you want to talk about using the buggers, there is a place for that too!

I think that the biggest problem with sosak is the lack of forum's, if there was a collecting, saktivity, modding sub forum's then it'd be better but I guess the software won't suport it :)

Btw it wasn't a dig ;)

The software will support it, and Jim and I have discussed it a time or two.  It really is just that we have never gotten around to doing it!   :-[
