Title: Recommendations for new EDC Tactical Pen?
Post by: SirVicaLot on February 14, 2019, 05:33:32 AM
Hi all, i am looking for a new EDC Tactical Pen. But there are so many out there that is hard to find what i need.
I have a few requirements the pen has to fulfill:

– Needs ability to act as a glass breaker
– Needs to look like a regular pen. No „tactical“ looks.
– Needs to be able to handle Fisher refills (the same as the ones for the Space Pen)
– Price below $70

I have no preference concerning material.

I would really appreciate some suggestions as i am kinda lost in the market right now

You do know you can get Parker compatible space pen refills? So, unless it's to make sure you only need one kind of refill, that might make the search process easier. Staying below USD 70 will probably be a problem, though.

I have no personal experience with this just looked it up  ;).

Nitecore NTP10 Tactical Self Defense Pen.  It is a wee bit out of your price point but maybe with some searching you can find it closer to your $70.  It sure is a nice looking pen in Ti.

I did not know that. I have a pen with a turn mechanism to activate, and so far i was unable to find a fisher space pen cartridge that would work with that.
I know staying below $70 would be a challenge. I just don‘t want to pay 100 bucks for a pen. That is nuts

That looks interesting. But $120  I will never justify that to my wife

I would also like it if the glass breaker would be covered. I carry my pens in my pant pockets, and i can see already how those tips make holes in them.

https://www.spacepen.com/cartridge.aspx “ALL PR cartridge come with a plastic adapter which allows them to be used in Parker Style Pens!” Perhaps that adapter does not work well with turn style mechanisms.

Schmidt makes a Parker compatible pressurized refill as well, perhaps that works better in some mechanisms. https://www.cultpens.com/i/q/SM16273/schmidt-p950m-megaline-pressurised-ballpoint-pen-refill-medium

The [Titaner] pen linked above comes with a Parker style refill according to the same page, so I would assume that's what it uses. ☺
