Why do you carry your EDC tool? What is it about that tool that makes you keep going back to it? Well, I would have to say the LM SURGE! The reason I like it is because: its heavy duty, has two large OHO blades, blade exchanger ( can use diamond file to sharpen knife and use large t-shank saw blades), large scissors on the outside, has an awl, large prybar, bit driver that lets me have 42 screwdrivers, and I could go on and on!
What about your EDC tool?
-
I have been carrying the LM Blast the past week but I bought it because I need a tool that has the most bang for the buck I guess you could say. I lay brick so I really have no use for dedicated pliers all the time nor do I need screwdrivers or file or etc etc but I do occasionally need all of them I try to keep weight down as much as possible in my tool bag which is heavy enough as it is the MT helps a lot with that. I have been carrying a PST but for sentimental reason put it out of edc. so far blast been doing great. This is a good thread by the way. :D

Vic spirit, precsion engineering, good looking, compact size (the square sheath is much smaller than wave/flik).
-
All the better to eat babies with!
Or,
Because I need to pull pry, loosen and tighten and file things very often, as well as pick stuff up with the pliers that I don't want my hands touching. I also need to open beer, and don't like using my teeth.

Because the universe we live in is completely indifferent to our wellbeing and mundane aspirations.
Sometimes the world seems to be actively hostile, but really it just doesn't give a damn one way or the other.
Whether we survive or perish, whether we prosper or suffer is mostly up to us.
EDC tools may provide a small advantage in coping with that indifferent universe on a daily basis.
Right now my EDC tools are a Vic Tinker and a Gerber Clutch.

I like to take off my sock and put my wAvE in it and beat down people who annoy me. Oh and the fact it has outside opening blades is why i choose it to carry.
-
The only reason I EDC my old Wave is the one-hand opening blade. If my Swisstool had one I'd switch her in a second. Still, the Wave's been an excellent performer.
-
Why do I carry my EDC tool? Because it gets all scratched up if I drag along behind me with some twine.

As the person who everyone looks to , to save their world, I need all the help I can get

Hi,
The Leatherman Blast is one of my three EDC's. The others are the Skeletool CX and Vic Hunter. Would really like to see the Blast have a clip option added to it.

I thought it was the reverse :D
-
Because it is easer than carrying a tool box in my back pack, for the last 12 yrs it was my PST II,but here lately it my Super Tool, because its almost indestructible.

I carry my SwissTool,Rescue, and most of the time a 2-3 layer SAK for the simple reason that when my wheels are not turning I am not earning.I slipseat a truck every night.Carrying a toolbox is not really an option as it was when i ran over the road and had an assigned truck.I do carry some small tools in my work bag,but nothing major.
Many problems that I run into can be quickly resolved with a bit of ingenuity, some Duck Tape and a Multitool.
This combination keeps me safe, keeps me rolling and profitable. My Multi's and SAK's are time savers as well when I am not at work.A hinge is loose,a screw needs to be tightend it is easy and quicker to utilize what is on my belt or in my pocket than to take a walk to the garage, grab a tool, fix the problem then put it away.
I carry my Swisstool because it works best for me.In my humble opinion the Swisstool X is what Leatherman's
Supertool should have been or evolved to in the first place.
Overall,it does matter what tool a person carries. What does matter is that the tool of choice is handy, and of
good quality.

Umm sorry, no it's not. I had to send my LM Supertool 200 back to them for warranty work. I cut something it wasn't designed to and totally screwed up the wire cutters. Granted it wasn't the tools fault but it still can be broken.
-
I was talking about the Supertool not the Supertool 200. :P
-
Wouldn't the wire cutters be the same though? ;)

Why do you carry your EDC tool?
Mostly because Padma Lakshmi won't carry it for me.... :(

Now there is something I would like to EDC.
Dtrain
PS Thanks Dunc for the Kind Words

I think Dtrain pretty much called it right , that lineup will handle just about anything an EDC should be expected to take care of .

Because it wouldn't be my EDC if I didn't carry it every day. :D
