Title: OT: Father's Day
Post by: Swiss Man on June 16, 2008, 12:23:13 AM: Today is Father’s Day I have been celebrating this day for 44 years as a son and 24 years as a father.

This day is different thought; this is the first one that my Dad isn’t with me.
He passed away on Thanksgiving 07.

This bothers me because last Father’s day I didn’t even take the time to call him, matter of fact I called my stepfather because he had been more a father to me since my teenage years.

I said all that to say this. If your father is alive today you need to call him and wish him a Happy Father’s Day.

You may have problems in your relationship; you may think he is a jerk or that you will always have “next time” to say sometime.

I thought the same thing last year and this year I would give anything just to be able to call him and tell him thank you for all he has ever done for me, and to tell him that I love him.

Don’t let this opportunity pass you; you may not have a “next time”.

Post by: matt on June 16, 2008, 03:27:31 AM: I lost my mom two years ago and I can relate to what you are saying,mothersday is ofcourse,the tough one for me.sorry that you are hurting and if it helps you aren't alone.for the first half of your life, life gives to you the second half it takes away.the trick is learning to live with the loses and makeing the most of whats left.
