Title: Geocaching
Post by: Corwyn on November 28, 2014, 08:58:16 PM
Since you guys started me with Geocaching (and we're in the thread starting day) how about you guys show some of your funkiest, craziest, prettiest and most memorable caching adventures.

I only started a few months ago so not impressive:

Zakynthos Blue Caves Earthcache:

Bucegi Sphinx Earthcache:

7 Stairs Canyon Earthcache:

Crawling under train rails and above trolleybus lines, over a crowded road for the Craiter Bridge Geocache:

Butterfly guarding my Trainspotting Geocache (after 1 hour of searching I realised it was above me):

View from first search for the Black Tower Geocache (fourth visit I realised it was under me):

Risky useless climb down to get the Solomon Cliffs Geocache (it was under the person taking the photos):

Road closed/no tresspassing... yeah right - Rasnov Water Supply Basin Geocache:

Do not climb down that way - very dangerous. Pah... only took me 2 hours to get down with lots of scrapes, broken pants, full of dust and bits of barb wire poking into me... I mean going back the same way would have taken like 20 minutes, but where's the fun. Brasov Citadel Geocache

Squirrel caching at Hunter's Tower Geocache:

Spot the nano - Old School Geocache:

Trespassing, climbing someone's ladder, than wall and digging out his plants... ow I guess I took the coords wrong - Cache for the Heroes:

Easy 4 meter climb. Yeah, right, here's the multitool of the vertically challenged Warthe Rest Geocache:

Should I get my tracking sticks for that short hike? Ow no, people will laugh... 15 minutes and 2 falls in the mud later. this stick will make a nice pair of tracking sticks... thank you trusty Spirit...

Nice pics :tu:.

Never seem to bother with a camera when I go out caching. Most of the ones I go after are in nicely wooded forest areas and I mainly hunt in the winter.

Great pics.

Did you build any caches of your own so far?

Made 3 of my own:

My first was on Tampa Hill, on Gabony Steps, after the stairs end, behind a bench and some bushes, under rocks (Hint:"Steps are over, take a rest/ Roll a rock will be your test."):

My second one was in the local Park, next to the Olympic Skating Rink, in the bark of a tree (Hint:"Bow your head/ Cache's at hand .")::

My third one was on this hill, above the river, at the root or 2 trees (hint:"Ents will signal your victory")

Also adopted two others (I'll also pop a magnetic one tomorrow to replace the one in the wall of a chapel):

This is a plastic peanut on a stick shoved in the handrails of the stairway to the White Tower:

Simple plastic box to replace Craftsman's Tower one:

I don't cache much nowadays due to not being able to walk to far, but I still maintain the few I placed that I still have active.  I placed all mine either at the start of or part way along my favourite dog walking spots.  The magnetic nano I have placed has just gone missing so I need to replace it.
