Title: Adding tap hammer to Boker PM-3
Post by: tommywp on March 30, 2018, 11:08:53 PM
In my never ending quest to include a tap hammer in my carry, I spent the loot on a Boker PM-3. Interesting knife...boker/fox collaboration, cool/different blade shape, under 3.5 inches with backlock and prominent finger coil (which were on my checklist). Removable thumb studs if you prefer that sort of thing. Really nice, high quality knife. Large flat portion on the pommel, and removable glass breaker that allowed for a connection point make this the best suited knife I’ve encountered yet for this mod. The hammer is the end of a cheap letter opener..already had the screw hole and one of the curves...just dremmeled/filees the curve on the other end, drilled the hole with a larger bit so the screw head could recess, and attached with some VHB tape.

Looks great! Perhaps consider changing the backspacer to metal to further sure (shore?) up the liners?

Good idea, but way above my pay grade.

What a great idea.  Have banged on far too many pins, staples, and small nails with the side or spine of a knife or MT than I'd like to admit and this would be a much better option.
