Many of you know the story, use the tools yet LMN finally made o short , very nice piece of film about the beginning of what we know today as a multi tool.
Spoiler: the prototype was called Mr. Crunch
mettle: a person's ability to cope well with difficulties; spirit and resilience.

I was looking forward to it since its trailer on the 35th Anniversary Road Show

I enjoyed that a lot, and having met Tim twice I can attest that he is as humble and friendly to every fan as the video shows  :tu:

Spoiler: the prototype was called Mr. Crunch

PS: I managed to capture the tool progression from the first prototype (Mr.Crunch) to the last, since you mentioned that in your post  :salute:

Also, I remember the story about a soldier in Irak or Afghanistan whose ST300 saved his life when it stopped a bullet, and I found the pic around, it would have been nice to see him in the video but maybe he is retired, still deployed or who knows what

Thanks for sharing!

I liked the historical angle about the initial ideas and development of the tool more than the somewhat overdone "grateful users survive ordeal and meet the creator of the responsible tool" bit. Maybe it's my Northwest European upbringing but that was done in a way that raised my hackles. I also got the impression that Mr. Leatherman was a bit hesitant to meet complete strangers in a remote log cabin (only to discover he'd been set up by his partner, of course), but that may just be my reading.

:imws:
I would also like to have heard more about the technical aspects to his prototypes.
