I collect a ton of things! I collect: MTs, SAKs, tac folders, guns, EDC/Survival gear, flashlights, crossbows, compound bows, fishing rods/reels, and tools.
I totally forgot about watches! Yeah, I have a ton of watches. A few really good ones too!

Just multitools. I can't afford anything else. :-\
-
Bob, that's because you have 8585858858 tools! I thought I was special with my collection, but you my friend have TOO many! I would be single if I had all the tools you do, seriously! But, it's cool because we can all learn things from your gigantic collection. Like me last night, I never knew Bear had a TiNi tool!
-
Knives, multitools and SAK's for me. I need to really steer my collection somewhere though.

Don't you fancy making one of your own now?

Make what, a SAK?

Make what, a SAK?
Well yes, you can't master sharpening yet, so making your own knife might be a bit ambitious :D

I've got lost somewhere. :D
You asked if I had thought about making one and I was just saying that I already had. Will have to attempt scale mods at some point. >:D

I have a lot of baseball-style caps too, but I swear I didn't try to collect them. :D
Years ago I collected Hotwheels, and I still have many boxes full of them sitting in the basement. Does anyone here have kids that love Hotwheels? ??? :ahhh

I try to collect quality.
Be it knives :D, flashlights, multitools, books, tools, gadgets, or memorable experiences, quality is the deciding factor.
-
One of my favorite programs on Aussie TV is called Collectors , one of the reasons I decided too collect tools came from this very good program , even if 2 of the 4 hosts are poms( no offense to Scotsmen :D) :P :D
If you look at the download section they have cool stories on old Tractors , Hammers & cars. The story on old guys collecting old tools is a goodun too.

I have some oldish stuff...
 Man those are awesome  I have a cousin that had a whole lot of them in the early eighties when we were kids and he brought them to church and we sat in the back of church and played Star Wars :D I wonder if he still has them  If so he has a pretty good sized collection of them :)
-
I try to collect quality.

That is the underlying essence of collecting good advice :tu:
-
Discontinued Al Mar folding knives.
That's enough for me, all other spare money is spent on the shooting range =)

I couldn't find a pic of this one, so I took new ones... (of course I found said pics after I took new ones...) Any ways, my sister gave this one to me in London UK... I think she found it in a market or smth... but it has all the original parts...
-
Besides multitools. :multi: I have some SAKs and knives. I have started a flashlight collection with a good Surefire collection. When I was younger I collected sports cards. I have season sets of TOPPS baseball cards for 5 years. I used to collect Transformers. Especially generation 1 but they became too over priced for me.

What kind of guns do you have? Pictures would be nice :)
-
What kind of guns do you have? Pictures would be nice :)
None =(
Handgun owning is prohibited in Russia ( even shooting ranges have issues with buying them, and they can buy handguns manufactured in Russia only ). Even .22 LR and flobert. Non lethal pistols can be purchased with proper licence, but they're not suitable for training -- they're designed to shoot at something 5-10 meters away, and accuracy is poor.
Bolt-action and semi-auto rifles are available to the hunters only with at least 5 year experience. No Class III at all.
And i don't like shotguns that much to buy it, when i have other matters to attend to. But if everything goes Ok, i'll buy Remington 870.
Till then I rent a gun at a shooting range. ( Even IPSC shooters have to do so =( ).
This model : http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg145-e.htm (http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg145-e.htm)
But Russian variation has magazine capacity limited to 10 rounds.
-
Wow aint that a kick in the pants! I actually own more russian guns than a Russian can!!!
I have 2 SKS
1 AK
2 Tokarev TT
2 Nagants. But one is Romanian

That was an interesting looking pistol. I use to have a few Soviet guns 2 Mosin 91/30s an ex sniper 91/30 and a 91/59 "Sanitized". Plus a Chinese SKS and a 9mm TT.
-
I got small collection of Victorinox SAKs.
And I also collect stamps from around the world - nothing fancy just from the mail/packages I receiving (or my friends) - I got one album (32 pages) and I got stamps from a lot of countries. Few months ago I reorder it after years for just adding stamps with no order. I print small flags of each country I have stamps from and I put next to each country flag the stamps from that country. I learned a lot of geography and history from doing so. It was fun but took me few days. I wonder how long it would take if I was a real stamp collector and have few albums / thousands for stamps.
-
Ninjaz send me a PM with your address and I'll send you some stamps I have I used to collect them years ago.

Interested in collecting any that are about 10 years old? I have many Hot Wheels and Johnny Lightnings from that era that I'd like to get rid of.
-
As mentioned elsewhere, I've been "moving office" over the last week or so, and found my stopwatch collection.
There are several missing though, including a really nice Heuer model, and a German weird thing made by Jungens :( They can't be far away though, so I'm sure I'll find them soon.
I've got 13 here, but I'm sure there's another half dozen somewhere......
-
Well since this is the Collector's Forum I figured I'd see what all you guys collected :D
I used to collect USA-made pocket knives. Now, I collect a pension.

Oh yeah - I took that pic in a bit of a rush and didn't notice! Why stop watches? I just like them!
It started when I was looking for a stop watch for coaching my kids' football team, and quickly deciding that the digital ones were crap. So I picked up an old one off ebay, and whilst it was nice, it didn't actually keep very accurate time, so I got another, and then another .... :P
Some of them are just very nice quality items, and I like that!
-
I'll have to keep my eyes peeled at the carboots for you. You occasionally see them but not often.
Neil

When i get rich i will start my bicycle collection starting with an Original Wright Brothers bicycle. Vintage Eddy Merchx, Columbia, Litespeed, Merlin, Spooky, Ibis, Proflex, and Derosa to start with.

I got lucky over a couple years and found some local flea market stalls that had badges, then that dried up,then for a long time couldn't find a source, until I started surfing the 'net.I'm still short, the Gordons,Argyll& Sutherlands,KOSB,Ox & Bucks,Sherwood Foresters, and the Gloucestershire--front and back.
I do need to get another badge for the KRR.I had one and gave it to an old acquaintance of mine, who had served in a Territorial battalion of the KRR,then went on to be a F/O in the RAF.In return he gave me his cloth pilot's wings---more than fair trade there.
-
Maybe you and Grant should join forces, then see what you can pick up over here :)
Ironically the Argyll& Sutherlands are one of my counties regiments, despite hailing from Scotland!

And that from a county that was linked to the Buffs! Pontius Pilate's Bodyguard :D BTW the KRR was nicknamed the Kaiser's Bodyguard, partly because it's badge was Maltese Cross shaped, and also pre-1914 the Kaiser was honorary Colonel of the Reg't.Another little piece of history to tuck away for future reference: My friend, that I traded with;flew Tiffies in 181 Sqn. He tolds me that Tiffie drivers ALWAYS flew with oxygen masks on,because Tiffies profusely leaked carbon monoxide into the cockpits.

If you can send me pictures or links of what you're looking for I'll have a hunt upstairs.
Seriously, I have a load of new old stock military badges dating back to before WW1. They were lurking in the basement of my father-in-law's shop.

I can't make out from the small picture exactly what that is, but I certainly have a few similar to that. A few are NATO issue, including Navy torpedo run timers etc. They have 3 and 6 second sweeps.
-
Neil,

Not likely I'm afraid as the shop (which was in Newark) would have supplied local regiments. There's definitely some Sherwood Foresters stuff but anything else I'd be guessing at.

Train crews weren't fond of them either.
I'm feeling a bit pedantic tonight. The King's Royal Rifles(KRR) was originally raised after the French and Indian War as the Royal American Rifles(RAR) for service in the newly acquired territories west of the Alleghenies.Instead of the normal redcoats, the regiment was uniformed in green, probably as a result of the success of the various Ranger units during the war.The intent was to fill it's ranks with Americans, but the colonists weren't keen on serving in a regular army unit, and it's ranks were filled primarily with Swiss and Germans. The RAR, took heavy losses in Pontiac's Uprising.
The link is to what seems to be a pretty good gallery of cap badges.

Well as of late I guess I am getting into collecting SAKs :ahhh first MTs now this I was broke enough before :D I am finding myself becoming ever more looking for the little red jewels more and more I have 13 or 14 now :ahhh I already have so many that I can't count em 7 are in the 58 mm range the rest are 91mm except one maybe an 84mm I forgot about 1 and it is a 93mm alox  not sure but it seems that SAK collecting is quickly becoming more addictive than MT collecting :-X :D
-
You can get a lot more SAKs for the money you would spend on a single MT...you could easily buy 7 used SAKs from Tim for the price of a mid-priced MT!

Mostly old knives, have a few pre 1900.I try to stay with early u.s. company cutlery. But I recently acquired an old 1901 lever action Winchester 10 gauge. But my first love are old well made knives.

I think my first obsessive collecting began as a small child as was rocks, crystals and fossils. As a teen it progressed to comics and lighters - I still have most of those. Then over the years it was guitars which was perfectly justifiable due to work ;)
These days it's SAKs and random MTs and knives (mostly SOG & LM). I also have quite a few watches and pens which I love, nothing really spendy, just nice shiny ones that I fall for mostly!
-
Your gonna love Hawkchucker's new hair cut lots of shinny spots :D

I collect knives. Not a single brand, I buy what ever I like, but most of my knives are Spyderco :P
-
Urgh, where do I start? I collect far too much. Military surplus, random interesting bits and pieces, swords... MT and SAKs obviously.
Used to be an avid Warhammer 40K collector.
I've got an unhealthy amount of board games as well.
I hate collecting storage apace however, I'm always trying to get rid of that :D
-
Used to be an avid Warhammer 40K collector.
Novels or Models mate ???

Both. Played pretty much every game GW made and got loads of the novels.
-
Good man :tu:
I've got close on 200 of there Novels now probably :o But apart from a couple of Astartes bikes I've not got any of there models or games :-\
Hopefully once my boy's old enough all that will change :D
-
Vintage fountain pens. I didn't have any specialization. If it was an old fountain pen, and Ithought I could do something with it, I'd pick it up. I had a weakness for pens from the 20s through the 40s (though I do have a huge number of Esterbrooks from the late 40s - 50s; darned good pens, those). By now I have to have between 200-300 of them jammed about here.
Like SAKs and MTs, they're infinitely usable. And fun! :D
-
SAK's and to a lesser extent, Multitool's. I also dabble with Case knives, but seem to be refining them to the Scout/Camper model. I went through a flashlight phase and a short Zippo/IMCO phase too. I still like SAK's the most but my second and growing interest is Multitools.

I also collect machetes, non folding hunting knives, and those idiotic Rambo style survival knives.
(https://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r207/Chako_photo/Chako_photo005/IMG_6872small_zpshv85z6hk.jpg) (https://s145.photobucket.com/user/Chako_photo/media/Chako_photo005/IMG_6872small_zpshv85z6hk.jpg.html)

I collect\horde multitools, pocket knives, and flashlights. :like: When I was younger I collected stamps, scanning radios and shortwave receivers, and sports board games. Rapidray, what is the difference between a clutch and mechanical pencil?
Clutch pencil will drop the lead completely out of the pencil when you depress the button.
A Mechanical pencil will only advance the lead a little bit at each depression of the button.
-
So far I only collect:
Firearms
Leathermans
SAK's (mainly Classic SDs)

3) Victorinox knifes (I started before 1 week... ) :D :D :D

I used to collet, but now I simply hoard :D
Used to collect Mt's and SAKs - notably Wenger Rangers
But now I'm back into photography. I sold virtually all my canon system a few years ago as I was suckered into the mirrorless movement (Rolls eyes) came to my senses, sold it and reverted back to canon dslr's
Currently have several bodies, 25 canon lenses, plus 7 canon flashguns. Intending to buy more canon lenses this year. I wont touch any other brand now It's either canon or nothing
I used to feel I had to justify owning things, but now I buy what the hell I want. Life's too short.
As a child I collected keyrings, not many as my parents deemed them unnecessary.
I hoarded tools to a ridiculous point that I couldn't work because there was too much stuff. Have sold 70-80% intend to whittle that down to a very very basic set up.
I love the idea of minimalism as long as I can keep my photo gear and my Wengers
-

Amen to that tosh. :hatsoff:

Ukuleles. Mostly older mass produced ukuleles from the 20s and 30s to the early 60s. I have a few Harmonys that are players, the best sounding one from the 20s, solid mahogany with a wood fret board. A couple of plastic ukes from the 50s that are cool, not much to play but look great on the wall. My all time favorite is a T&K Ceniza long neck tenor made up the road from me in Waianae. All koa, sweet sounding and great action. Made in the late 80s. This is the one I take out when we play with older musicians. All of my day-to-day ukes are nothing special, just good, solid instruments. My wife has already told me that if I buy one, I have to get rid of one.

Okay, here you go. The plastic ukes are from the 1950s and pretty much wall art. The Harmony ukes are both decent players, one from the 1920s or 1930s and the stenciled uke from the 1950s. The Ceniza long necked tenor is my favorite of all my ukes. Made from Hawaiian koa wood and beautifully crafted in the 1980s. This is my play in public ukulele.
