hi, is there any user maint tricks to removing the assembly etc. I have an old early model skeletool cx with the partially serrated blade and its bit holder latch is very worn, bits can come out if you flick it about. it is built inside the side plate and looks like held in with 2 pins, but the top of the catch is partially spring loaded, no way to unpin it? If i send it in for warranty its an older discontinued model, so a skeletool cx would now come with the straight blade. Any ideas?

I think you could send it in an note it as sentimental and ask to retain the serrated blade. I did this with a ST300 with CC pliers and they replaced everything but the plier head.

Do you not want the plain edge blade?

The problem is in the grip, a replacement tool would be a current version, older and discontinued have a slimmer in hand grip, for both skeletool and skeletool cx. In the picture the tool on the bottom is an early plain blade skeletool, imposed over it is a current partial combo blade skeletool. Look at the difference in the grip. This applies also to the skeletool cx series, with early being partially serrated and current plain edged. Im more into the grip issue than what type of blade it would have.

Got my items back from the warranty dept today, fixed the skeletool cx bit retaining clip and replaced the juice s2 with a new one. Another very pleasant warranty experience from leatherman.
