Does any SOG fan have a list of multitools that the company have made over the years. Is the Power Plier and the Pocket Power Plier different tools or the same. I've found different results searcing the web.

The Power Plier came first, and is a larger tool, very comparable to a Leatherman Super Tool. Then came the Pocket Power Plier, which is similar in size to the PST.

Was the Power Plier replaced by the PowerLock?

Yes, I think so. For a very short time after the Power Lock was introduced, both were listed on SOG's website. Then the the Power Plier was dropped.

Of the SOG-like tools, I've only seen the Stanley SL0031BP. Although the box says it's made by United Cutlery, it looks nearly identical to the SOG Pocket Power Plier except for the logos and also the Stanley has a more polished finish and a different file (not as nice as the SOG file in my opinion) and nylon sheath.

It's actually a bit handier to use that same chart on SOG's website HERE (http://sogknives.com/service/assistance/mt-chart.php). By passing your cursor over the various model numbers (B60, S44, etc) a little picture of that tool will pop up in the window at the top.

I think we can blame ToolLogic for starting the "credit card sized tools that break in half in your wallet" craze. While I do have a few SwissCards and others in my collection, I have never really seen them worthy of actual carry. I did have a SwissCard Quattro in my PDA case for a time, but the only thing I ever used on it was a toothpick.
Of course, they are still well worth mentioning!

I actually liked carrying a Card sized multi while camping/backpacking. They're pretty light, and small sized... plus, some have a signal mirror on one side. :) I'd like to see one with a small thin pair of needlenose pliers in it.

Yeah they can be handy for that. I like to keep them in the tent for little things, and the scissors on the SwissCards are great. Beyond that though I am not a huge fan.
I did get one for my brother and he loves it. Or at least he did until he tried to get on an airplane with it! He forgot it was in his wallet. Fortunately he had enough time before his flight to go back and drop it in his car.

now i got to ask does any of y guys have 3" serrated locking blades,1/4 drivers and socket adapter u could sell to me,sorry this is rong topic,but at the same time i would like to know if theres any webshop that sells these easily overseas and accepts paypal,with out any email hassle :D

I got a wallet I can fit a real SAK or multitool into.
I don't get the card tools. Flimsy, and not really that compact for what they do.
You're supposed to put it in your wallet with your cards, but I have too many cards already.

Yes that is the case unfortunately. :( Furthermore, SOG instructs and encourages people in their User's Manuals to swap out blades and customize their multitools for specific needs.
None of the other manufacturers do this. Leatherman and Gerber use special fasteners which discourage tampering, while Victorinox and others use permanent rivets. :-\

The Leatherman forum had threads on obtaining the security torx screwdrivers,
and SOSAK has extensive tutorials on removing the "permanent" rivets and modding SAKs in general.
Does seem more difficult than it needs to be in both cases.
In both cases, the only source of parts is taking apart other tools.
Not too much of an issue for SAKs generally, because they're cheap,
but could get costly for multitools.
I could see setting up a multi without any blades, and carrying all the blades on a SAK.
It is usually a bit awkward to use blades on a MT compared a SAK or other knife, because
the knife is optimized for using the blades, while the MT is usually optimized for the pliers.
Such a set-up would also be handy for travel, if you could end up with an airplane-friendly MT
while keeping all the sharp stuff on a SAK in the checked baggage.

I dropped a note to Bear & Son about purchasing a saw blade for my 155L and received a reply the next day that, yes, indeed I could do so.

Sog also rebranded a powerlock as a master mechanic. I didn't realize they did that with the pocket power plier until I read this thread. I got my master mechanic from tru value.

I bought a second power plier and realized there were variations in the full nose plier. I also got another paratool and was surprised to see the file came in three variations, round end, square end, and square end thinned like a screwdriver. I didn't know there were square ended files without being thinned at the tip.
Does any one have any more info about the plier head variations?
