Good setup. :tu:Thanks everyone, learned (stilling learning) a lot from MTO, making it possible for me to assemble this kit together.
I'm guessing the wallet is All-Ett, right? How do you carry the Surge, pocket clip or holster?

The Surge hides inside 5th pocket of jeans to stay low profile.

Careful of what you learn here. We can be a bad influence.:gimme:
For being new to EDC, it looks like you're doing damn good to me! :salute:MTO has good teachers!
6500 days? That's probably longer then the original owner wore it? :DI just got the joke, LOL. Good one.
Why not? The pocket is about 5 inches deep, 3.25 inches wide.
6" Ruler is shown for size demolition.
Excuse the old belt, I wore it over 6500 days.
Very nice set up! Is that a homemade Surge saw holder?Yes, made of duct tape. Takes two minutes to do.

Nice. :tu:The one that came with it.
What clip are you using on the LD01?

I've used the Smurf out if mine.
Don't forget to add a metal saw for the t-shank adapter in case you need to do a jailbreak :)Always have some Bosch blades with me , ;).
I've been thinking about switching to a new surge for edc, but I'm thinking I might get more uses if I have a modded sidekick (replaceable bit driver, scissors, tweezers, and t-shank adapter) and a modded crunch (replaceable bit driver, awl and dental hook). What do you guys think?

Pocket DumpHow did you put those keys together? I would like to have something like that also…
He use a small bolt and nut. He put an 8 ring in between the keys so you can hang them on a carabiner or what have you. He email me a while back, showing me how he made it. Pretty good idea I think. Keeps the keys from making noise and the are more compact.
that's us mobile
I researched on numerous of key organizers available in market, they are expensive and have their limitations.
None can satisfy my needs, because I have a car key and a detachable Utility key i like to incorporate into the setup.
So I decided to make my own, the objectives are ALLCQS (Adaptable, Low-cost, Lightweight, Compact, Quiet & Simple).
I went down to hardware store to pick up a set of stainless steel #8-32 screw and nut, two washers and a sister clip, bolt the keys together, a few drops of super glue on the screw thread at the end. The nut is not going undone itself unless I use pliers.
I am very happy with the end result and I hope you guys will too.
Joel, try placing the car key at one end of the line up like I did, not in the middle, might help.
Blame me? You have no idea how many MTs you guys "made" me buy since I joined MTO.
I purchased my first ever folding knife added to my loadout.
Benchmade 530, I hope it is a good choice for EDC blade, so far I like it very much.
I am being very careful about that.
one thought is be careful carrying that nice phone don't pack to much in that sheath and crack the screen. Don't ask how I know
I carry a bag every day with very similar items Kampfer. I've never weighed it though.:tu:

May update: the three minis are now part of the carry:

Some details about my Surge kit that I EDC in computer bag.
I use ST300 sheath to store the bit kits and Piranha, and all saw blades go into the tube came with PWII.
The main reason I don't EDC Surge anymore is that one needs to carry all the accessories to take FULL advantage of the mighty Surge.
The Surge itself I am fine with it, just all the accessories are pain to EDC on person.
Thanks but just the Mini-Surge would be enough. Some details about my Surge kit that I EDC in computer bag.

Kampfer,You are correct on all accounts, sir.
Is the Maxpedition TC-1 pouch still working OK for you? I'm thinking of buying one.
It looks like you removed the Maxpedition label. Did you subdue the formerly white stitching? The stitching looks darker in the last photo.
I used a black marker to "paint" the white stitching of some of my black Maxpedition pouches.
Did you cut off the end of the cinch strap? Remove the D-ring?
I imagine that buckling and unbuckling the stock cinch strap would slow access to the pouch contents.
Thanks!
... Now there is plenty of room in TC1 for the phone and a full size MT and a few small items.
I like to know all of your honest opinion on this:
As a desk jockey, I really don't need all these gadgets (in fact I was doing fine with just a Utility-Key in the past 10 years), but I am trying to develop the habit of having these gadgets on me 24/7 to be prepare for whatever life throw at me unexpectedly, regardless when or where.
I know some of you use a different EDC system, a specify kit for a specify situation or purpose, like urban kit, outdoor kit, tactical kit, disaster kit, etc...
I wonder if I am pursuing in the right direction. Thanks.

Kam - I'm guessing you like that LD02 as its the only thing that stays consitant across your carries. I'm in the market for a AAA clicky and have been looking past the LD02 because at 3 inches it seems like it might be too small for both the clicky and the head to extend past my hand when I'm holding it. I've got average sized hands. Do you find this to be the case and,if so, is it annoying to get to the clicky? Comparing lights and trying to understand how much of a knock this is. Thanks! :salute:That is because I am not a flashlight guy, don't know much about them. LD02 is a big improvement over LD01 because I don't like twist on lights. So far I am very happy with LD02, small and lght, pretty bright and last long enough for my use.
Thanks. What I really want to know is whether the size is adequate when it's in use. When you are holding it in a fist so that flashlight head is by the pinky and clicky by the thumb, is it easy to use the clicky or does it get buried under your ring finger because the light is so small. It is not an issue for me but I have small hands.

Pretty cool setup. Seems like it is a pretty smooth draw too. Very nice. :salute:
Any shots of you wearing it? It looks like it hangs with the cutting edge up. I'm curious how it rides and would be drawn like that. The KuKri has unusual blade shape, almost like a reversed Scimitar, I positioned the sheath "upside down" for a smooth draw.

My daily companions: Min-Surge & Mini-Onslaught.Where did you get that file from? Locks into Wave or Surge in place of pocket clip?
AWESOME! What's the story on the file?

He was caught 72 hours later after he crashed our car and got hurt. My tools in the car were recovered from his backpack. Just got them back from the police.
I am guessing he liked my tools so much, instead of selling them he kept them to use on "jobs".

I do, almost as if the blade hole and blade shape mimic each other. I've got a Byrd Rescue2 and the feel in hand is great, I think i like the look of the Byrd hole more than the Sypdie hole
Wise words, I missed them earlier. :salute:

I think you need more knives :pok:Because I am set on MT & light, haven’t find anything better than Spirit & LD02.
I like that Contractor. Looks like it´s a lot beefier than my Vic Pruner. From the SOG website I understand it has a one side bevel? It is v grinded, while the knife is solid and well built, the back back spring became very weak after just a few days of opening/closing. I contacted SOG about this.

what didn't work with you with the wave feature?
That is correct. Also the gap between spine and plate is just too small for a reliable catch.what didn't work with you with the wave feature?
seems like most users have problems with the thumbplate not grabbing the seam of the pocket,
supposedly because of the blade spine curvature :salute:
Those style knives are really appealing. Sure hope the bite you got wasn't too bad. Thanks, it nailed me to the bone of my ring finger, I am better now.
yet to discover the hawkbill awesomeness myself. my joking aside, what do you use it for in every day situations?Every thing, open boxes envelopes packages, cut rope cord, peel apple, etc.
I´ve found larger hawkbills not entirely suited for box opening. It´s very easy to damage the contents of the box in the same cut.Agree, because it cuts so damn well. So make sure the blade is not pointing at but away from the contents.
what didn't work with you with the wave feature?
that's a whole lotta hawkbillsI think I got all of them (ones that I am interested) except AG Russell’s pocket peak.
when you go after something you really go after somethingThat is the way I do things. :salute:
I like to keep these handy... for close encounters.

Coming February 31, 2018That is a day that will never come, LOL.
You'll jingle and jangle a bit carting all that gold in your pocketsActually not jingle much due to their weight.
After having some late night snack with wifey in Cupertino Village (a Chinese shopping center, across from Apple "Spaceship" HQ), we spotted three scumbags trying to break into a parked car. I went up to confront them. One of them told me to smurf off while another one threaten me with a small prybar; so I showed them my Espada. They jumped into a car and took off in hurry.

What kind of prybar they were using ?

He apparently now also comes equipped with a helmet... :D
"that's not a knife ...this is a knife! :mn:" :DGood point, I was being really careful about that. I kept my distance, at least four meters from them. so them don’t feel too threaten, and kept their escape path wide open; that also give me some time and space to react in case there is further action. I guess at that moment I was willing to take reasonable amount of risk to stand up to those scums, know calling police would never get them caught.
turned out well, but take care Kampf, in your country many folks carry an even greater "equalizer" :salute:

Let's see if Bladeless Sideclip got what it takes to be my primary EDC.Nope it doesn't. Scissors don't work right, the handle folds itself under moderate pressure. Disappointing. :dunno:
