I bought myself a Huntsman from Amazon.

Great choice, one of the best :like:

Good choice. IMO the Huntsman is one of the best Vic knives :climber:

Nice start, but be prepared. It doesn't stop here!

You're going to find that is a little too big, heavy, and bulky. So you'll need something light and more manageable so get a Recruit. But then you'll need to try an alox, so a nice svelte Cadet is in the offing. Then, since you like the alox handle so much, try a Pioneer X, 'cause you need scissors. Then...

Welcome Des, the Huntsman is a great knife. It was the first SAK I bought myself after I was gifted a Spartan and realized I had SAK fever. You won’t be disappointed.

Welcome to :MTO:
My first Victorinox was a Camper (Huntsman without scissors), carried it for 5 years before losing it in a movie theater. In hindsight, I think I would have enjoyed the Huntsman model...the added scissors would have come in handy. :tu:
Enjoy it in good health.

I've ordered some Paracord to attach to mine so I don't lose it.
-
SAK's and paracord?
That's 2 different rabbit holes to jump down.
-
Cool avatar, Des. You know that you will be required to post a photo of your paracord lanyard once you tie up a nice one. Best wishes. G

Welcome, Des. My first SAK lust was a Huntsman. I thought it would be the best for me. And it was! Then the addiction started.
Glad you are here. As IMR said, show us the paracord lanyard. Simple with a single knot or one a bit more involved. Your choice. I’m fairly new here and I find everyone friendly and helpful.

Congrats and welcome aboard! Paracord and sak’s, nice, just a forewarning, both are addicting!

Congratulations...nice knife. If you are like me and so many others, it is easy to fall down the rabbit hole and soon you are looking at several models! You can add the micro driver or ferro rod to the corkscrew and a pin in the little hole under the corkscrew to add more utility in the same footprint. Please share back with how you get on with it as you carry it and start to put it to use.

Good choice. I got one of those a few years back. Came in clam-shell packaging with this faux leather pouch with belt clip on back and snap closure.
-
Welcome Des and congrats on the new SAK! You have made a wise decision.
-
Welcome Des and great choice of first SAK - :
It was my first SAK too ....... Say My Name - Say My name !! :D :salute: :tu:
People talk a lot here about enabling, buying more and more SAKs
But just to let you know - After getting my Huntsman - It took me about 30 years before I went down the rabbit hole of accumulation :)
-
Welcome aboard! My first and only one for 32 years. You're going to love it!
-
Welcome, and congrats on a great first knife.

Welcome.
Excellent choice on the SAK.
Unlike these naysayers I for one am sure you’ll be fine and never buy another.
That said nobody likes a quitter and the Swisschamp is THE iconic Swiss Army knife.
Maybe with some custom Micarta scales and a leather belt sheath?
