Not much multitool activity going on at the Kershaw booth.

We learned that the old A100 Multi-Tool had been a "loss leader" for Kershaw, and that it was unlikely they would be coming out with any other plier multitools in the foreseeable future. :(
Only minor changes for the National Geographic Carabiner Tool for 2008; for one thing, it is no longer liscensed by the National Geographic Society. Henceforth, it will simply go by the name of "Carabiner Tool." Also new for 2008 is the coating, which used to be hard-coat anodize but will now be powder coat teflon. Apparently the teflon gives the handle a deeper, richer finish. (below)

By the way, our apologies for the poor photos. This was Sunday afternoon, right when the Super Bowl was starting. Huge screen monitors were all over the Show floor. It was almost impossible to find someone to talk to, let alone getting them to open up the display cabinets. :P
Kershaw's other carabiner knife, the Jeeva, has been discontinued for 2008. No reason was given. (file photo below)

Other interesting items in the Kershaw booth were the Twocan scissor tools, which now come in a variety of fruity flavors, and the E.T. Knife (External Toggle) which has the most bizarre mechanism of any folding knife I've ever seen.

Aren't you forgetting one important feature of the Kershaw Carabiner Tool? :pok:
As we had found out later on, while talking with the designers of CRKT's ID Works department, the same guys who designed the Zilla, Guppie, Getaway Driver, Lumabiner etc also are responsable fo rthe original design of Kershaw's Carabiner Tool. They refuse to take responsibility for what's happened to it since it left their drawing board though! :ahhh

It looks like they were allowed to get it right on the CRKT multitools though. Good to see their ideas made it out for the general public to appreciate.

I think that kershaw will be going more to the Blade aspect of the trade. They just came out with the Zero Tolerance line of upscale blades that seem to be selling quit well. Shame though the tools will be taking a sideline however it was kind of inevidable, they seemed to ignore the market over the years.
