Mine came with a black molle that has no pockets.
The Leatherman® OHT® One-Hand Tool – Black, item IK-530825, comes with a black nylon sheath.
One problem I foresee with this tool (I don't own one yet) is the handles coming together and pinching the palm like the Gerber MP. Is this the case dan bomb? What you tell me may convince me to buy or not to buy.

More than likely T8 and T10 security torx as is with most of their stuffI can confirm that the two larger, security torx screws are T10s. The smaller screws at the plier head end are something smaller than a T7, which is the smallest I have on hand.
Are everyone's pliers seperated like the last photo? Just the very tips of mine touch. (I know, I'm picky).
My pliers touch at the very end as well.
I am on the road this weekend and we pass a cabelas on our trip. I will stop by and if they have it, I am buying on a impulse purchase.
Don't have one yet. But have a coyote tan OHT pre-ordered.

Problems in; problems with the tool or problems; problems with production?
Leatherman informed me that they will make a limited amount of OHTs this year and will start a full production next year - my guess is that they need to reset machines that now make other multitools - maybe they will retire some other model(s)?
We will see. I'm glad that my OHT has arrived to my uncle and is now being shipped to Poland! I extept it on next monday!
It' still not available here in Poland.

And a review on tuesday? :sak:
I was rather shocked to discover that my particular tool had been assembled incorrectly, and this was not caught in the inspection stage:
I've been a loyal Leatherman user for more than 20 years now. I've taken the factory tour, and ceaselessly promote Leatherman tools to my friends.
I bought an OHT the day before yesterday, and was quite pleased with the spring-loaded pliers. I like the thinness of the pliers as well.

Hey guys,
I sent one of the OHT's to a guy in Michigan, and he asked what the Notch(es) are in the handles.
I can't see a use for it in normal usage. Most likely manufacturing or assembly related.
Any other ideas?
Hello everybody, :salute: Happy New Year to all, just got my OHT today. It will replace my Tti as EDC for now. Was wondering, anybody knows if the removable bit driver can be used on the OHT ?
Thanks !

The Removable Bit Driver will fit any of the Leatherman tools with either the square Phillips driver or the large bit driver (via the 1/4 x 6mm bit).
Leatherman does not mention the item can be used with the large bit driver. This is probably due to twisting-motion stress. The bit could break with over exertion.Quote from: LeathermanRemovable Bit Driver (http://www.leatherman.com/accessories/product/Removable_Bit_Driver)

Hello OHT owners. I have recently picked one up.. I have a question/concern.
The pliers do not line up that great... about 1 mm -1.5 mm off, sort of twisted.
...is this a norm for this multitool? or is it possible mine has a defect?
Thanks for your help!
I love my OHT, waited almost a year to buy, its solid as a rock. Ive read allot of complaints about the screwdrivers being to short, but that doesnt seem to be the case with most applications.Very nice I like it to, which color did you get ?

It is quite interesting that Leatherman chose to omit a large bit driver and/or the adaptability to the removable bit driver. It does have those two redundant flatheads, no file, and an odd looking can opener
I still need to try out one of these. :multi:

Love your one babola - finally a black oxide tool I like the look of.
Things that put me off though:
- Tiny blades (smaller than Skeletool's)
- No file
- It stays 'fat' when using drivers doesn't it?
Otherwise very tempting...

I was in Bivouac today (an outdoor store here) and found myself face to face with a BO OHT. There it was, right in the middle of the display cabinet, calling to me. The price tag said $109NZD. (for comparison a Surge next to it was $268NZD!)When you find something a lot cheaper than normal, don't play with it first, buy it and get out :twak:.
"Would you like me to take anything out for you to look at?" asks the lovely young lady - Hell yes!
So I have a little play with it (which was nice) but couldn't get the pliers to retract - I take it you just squeeze the handles together and push the buttons in?
Anyway, I'm on the verge of buying it when she comes back and tells me the price is wrong; on the box it says $199NZD. No Deal. >:(
The problem is it had the low price in the display stand but the high price on the box, when they scan it I guess it would ring up the high price.
I could argue that it was advertised at the low price, therefore they should sell it to me for that. As I left I saw her correcting the price on the display stand.
Since then I have actually noticed them on an online auction site here for $109NZD plus $15 P&P from Australia. The impulse buy urge may have passed though. ;-)
So bigger blades fit in without affecting anything else?- Tiny blades (smaller than Skeletool's)
- No file
That´s nothing that can´t be handled.
The wanted tools for a swap just need to be found. (I still need to find a BO Waves saw)
What I mean is some MTs such as Surge can be opened out more when using the drivers, which might be advantageous in a tight space.- It stays 'fat' when using drivers doesn't it?
As my other regular MT is a BO Surge ....... nothing to complain for me. ;)
I'm in.
Mine arrived from Phtonlight a couple of days ago. I'm really enjoying the quick deployment of the pliers, and the small blade is easy to work with too. I'm not so sure about the screwdrivers though. i love the bit holder on my TTi, so we'll see.
This is the second Leatherman arrival in a week, and my fourth full sized LMT in the collection.
I think it's time to admit that I've joined the ranks of the afflicted!
Nice Zman! How do you like it?
Nate
The sprung pliers are pretty good, I like those.
I've had my OHT for over a year and I think it has the best pliers on any leather man. Thier length and strength are incomparable on any multi tool. I've snapped screws and nails by placing them in the cutters putti the tool on the ground and stomping the handles. This was only done in a dirty pinch.

I also have a OHT for several months.

Welcome to the club my friend .
When the first rumours and later the first pics of the OHT showed up here, I was very sceptical about it (even said that this was one tool I would never buy ::)). Then it started to show up at the local outdoor shops, and one time, my oldest son handed me one of the blister packed OHT's and told me he liked the look of it ... ::). And since I had some store credit left over I decided to take a gamble and bought it.
And I must say, the OHT turned out to be the biggest (positive) surprise I've had for the last couple of years when it comes to multitools. Perfect fit and finish (maybe I was just lucky to get a "good one" this time, but I haven't heard much about any problems with an OHT here either, so ...). And it hasn't failed on me yet :D.
The silver one does look very classy, I must say .
Congrats on the purchase  I have been back and forth about this one as well and think it will only be a matter of time before I pull the trigger and get one  :D

I am yet to use the saw, but I suspect that is the only tool that I will find too short.I have used the saw quite a bit, and did not find it too small. It made quick work of small-medium branches and was comfortable in the hand.
So far everything else I have used, including the knives, have been fine despite their length for what I have used them for.

A question for those who have pulled an OHT apart: which Leatherman multitools are the bigger tools (knife/saw/strapcutter) compatible with?
No, I'm yet to handle a Gerber. I may have seen one a couple of years ago but I can't remember... :think:You will be good to go as a righty.
Right handed.
Have you noticed another feature on your OHT? Hint handlesThe pictures?
I have had a much harder time flicking my OHT vs my MP600  maybe need to oil it some more :shrug:The first OHT I got was so smooth, the pliers flew out like a hawk descending onto a none the wiser chipmunk.
Great pic Spartan :tu:
@Spartan - nice picture, mine a BO as well, which I like better than the 2-tone.
I sprayed mine down with penetrating oil and then wiped down to clean Black oxide dust from the tools and handles.
What is the orange handle attached to in back ground? Looks like a candidate to be shared my all things orange thread!

The last one I got has to be flicked like throwing Thor's hammer onto the Earth. I am sure the ladder will eventually loosen up eventually. Maybe some quick-drying "new" 3 in 1 silicone lube would help. I used it on the Thor OHT and it helped a bit.:)
Just sit and flick until it is smooth. Good way to keep busy when watching TV. Plus side, it aggregates other people into leaving the room, so you can change the channel to what you want. :rofl:I have had a much harder time flicking my OHT vs my MP600  maybe need to oil it some more :shrug:The first OHT I got was so smooth, the pliers flew out like a hawk descending onto a none the wiser chipmunk.

Do you mean the little lock that twists?Yes
Apparently that is common with these... mine are a tiny bit off-centre but the bigger issue is the replaceable cutters don't quite meet. What should i do?...
You could try the punch into the plier pivot method but looks hard to do on these without dismantling.
How bad is it? Pics?Sorry, this is the best i can do with my phone...(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/3b01a8c55cf3256bfb4f93cea5d36428.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171031/7b6dba53548f6d985043e780df34ffe5.jpg)
The plier tolerance isn't my only beef with them either, but I won't go there. $80+ tools should be better than that.Actually I would be interested to hear what else is your beef. The plier tips/cutter alignment is the only issue on mine.

Punch to the pivot method? How can i do it?
I don't regret mine. Love the look of the BO version most.I am curious and no offense intended. And I thank you for the rebuttle. But, have you tried to EDC your OHT? I thought it was the bee's knees until I carried it a couple of weeks. That is when the handle scale/drag issues and grip discomfort became obvious. My plier lock remained off, but just putting it in the sheath would twist it sometimes. Absolutely no positive positioning on either of my OHTs plier locks. It was always a mystery if the pliers would flik out or not, because of it. I can remedy some of the issues, but I don't personally recommend the OHT at $80. My personal opinion is that there are several MTs in the price range that are superior.
I haven't used it much but it has great fiddle-factor. :D
Here's my 2c on your thoughts about it's shortcomings GLBM:
Flimsy handle scales. - Mine seem fine.
Tools drag on said scales. - Not an issue on mine.
Ridiculous twist lock mechanism that has no positive positioning, so you can turn it and not know. - Hasn't been a problem for me, although I tend to not lock it.
Plier spring system makes tool bulkier than necessary. It didn't need to be spring loaded. IMO. - I LOVE that the pliers are spring-action. :dd:
Excessive hot spots when squeezing handles. - I found the handles really comfortable.
Can opener could have been nixed, small flat head put in its' place and much longer main blade could have filled an entire 'slot'. - I think being aimed at military it needed to have a can opener.
Plier jaws only meet at the far tips. Holding thin stuff is not practical/possible. - I think there is a good reason for that... explained on another thread.
No practical bit kit options. - True, but I think it's meant to be self-contained multitool.
Standard "molle" sheath is junk. The edge liner at the top tears within days. - True, the pocket part especially. I also think it's a litttle too small for the OHT which doesn't help.
But, have you tried to EDC your OHT?No to be fair I haven't. So I perhaps I would agree with you if I had.
Sorry for turning it into a debate! I'm not questioning your experiences, as you have said I asked for yours, and I have given mine. I'm just interested in others' points of view (and why they are different to mine!). :cheers:It's all good. :cheers:But, have you tried to EDC your OHT?No to be fair I haven't. I went for the “silver” one because; (1) I like the silver and black contrast, and (2) the silver one is becoming more rare now, not a lot of places have the silver one anymore, and those who do carve a premium for it, and I wanted mine to be as special to me as possible, so I got it engraved as well.

Out of curiosity, apart from a nylon sheath, is there really no leather sheaths from leatherman that fits an OHT?
I really can't find any...
The OHT will fit into the LM leather sheath that I use for my Surge.
That said I tend to wear through LM leather or nylon sheaths quickly. Unless they are the old school ones.
If you are going custom then I can recommend one made by Gohard. Been using mine for a couple years now and it's still going strong.
you could also find a Gerber/SOG/Schrade sheath that fits it, they are tough and big enough in many models :salute:
Out of curiosity, apart from a nylon sheath, is there really no leather sheaths from leatherman that fits an OHT?
I really can't find any...
My OHT came with the 'bad' molle sheath - there is a good one and a bad one they make - and it's quite a tight fit.
Do you have a link to Gohard? He is a member here, PM him. You can see some of his (and other members') work in the Sheaths section.

I did PM Gohard; with all respect for him custom making them, he is asking a little more than I was hoping to spend on a sheath.
I might have to look at other alternatives

for a Velcro one I also like Victorinox's greens sheath

then the Big Gerber Sheaths

Just a quick measure....
Length: 116mm
Width: 47mm (measured where the lock is)
Thickness: 21mm
Leatherman OHT
Critiques
- Too large / Bulky & Small tool selection (“Juice’s tools in Surge’s frame”, the sliding mechanism takes up all the space for more tools - All for the compromise of the One Handed Operation)
- Heavy
- Expensive (100 Euro) = More expensive than a Rebar, Wave, Super Tool and other Leathermans with more tools in them.
- Bad build quality compared to other Leathermans (Mixed opinions, other say its top quality)
- Molle sheath sucks
- Weak spring in pliers (The mechanics used on the spring-action pliers has break-in period.)
- Knife too small
- Saw too small (only cut small vegetation: branches the size of your thumb, which you might as well break off)
- Flathead screw drivers have too short a reach
- Phillips head is 2D design
- No Pocket clip
- No lanyard ring
- “Silver” version is Grey and not silver
- Bit adaptor not designed for it and doesn’t fit very well. (Ganzo multi tools adaptor fits Phillips head *WeAllJuggleKnives* )
- Lock for sliding mechanism is annoying and useless (too easy to lock up)
- Bottle opener feels out of place, and should have been scissors instead (Scissors are one of the things that are essential for an infantryman in a tool of this kind (the MUT has scissors)))
- Cutting hook is not useful for most people’s usage (Again, keep in mind tool is designed for Military / Law Enforcement and First responders (EMT, Firemen etc.))
- No file
- Smallest flathead screwdriver is brittle and breaks easily.
- Unable to close tools with gloves on (Mixed opinions: others say it is done easily)
- Plier deployment has a bit of a Learning curve (You may be able to flick the pliers open in on shot, out of the box – but chances are it will take a week of fiddling before they find their way down their rails smoothly.)
- Pliers can destroy the inside of your pocket
Praises:
- Spring loaded pliers
- one handed / flick opening fliers
- replaceable cutter inserts
- Everything locks
- Super Durable Black Oxide Coating on tools
- Made In USA (isn’t all leathermans that?)
- Handle show the user the location of specific tools
- Super handy for people using their multi tool constantly or if you are standing on a ladder
- Tough bit of kit!
- OHT is a good option for the soldier looking for a multi-tool that will do the job but if you want a bit more in terms of tools then opt for the MUT
Suggestions for improvements
- Bit adaptor in the bottom
- Make phillips screwdriver compatible with bit kit
Critiques
- Too large / Bulky & Small tool selection (“Juice’s tools in Surge’s frame”, the sliding mechanism takes up all the space for more tools - All for the compromise of the One Handed Operation)
I like pliers that fill my hand. I find many MTs to be too small.
- Heavy
It's not heavy. Well not for it's size - compare it to a Surge.
- Expensive (100 Euro) = More expensive than a Rebar, Wave, Super Tool and other Leathermans with more tools in them.
Aren't all MTs too expensive?
- Bad build quality compared to other Leathermans (Mixed opinions, other say its top quality)
Mine seems very well made, perhaps it is just that sliding pliers don't seem as robust.
- Molle sheath sucks
Well yes, leathermans Molle sheaths sucks in general, always have too....but that's not the OHT fault.
Not all LM molle sheaths suck - the XL is better. Did you read those threads I linked? :pok:
Remark: I know the OHT is primarily designed for military and servicemen, but they should really sell it with a belt sheath as well....I don't know of any first responders who carry Molle vests or belts either.
You can wear a molle sheath on a belt. :pok:
- Weak spring in pliers (The mechanics used on the spring-action pliers has break-in period.)
I haven't noticed a problem - happy with my spring-action pliers.
- Knife too small
Too small for what? I have never needed a bigger knife.
- Saw too small (only cut small vegetation: branches the size of your thumb, which you might as well break off)
Yes. All the other tools are fine being smaller, except the saw.
- Flathead screw drivers have too short a reach
Yes they are short but as yet that hasn't been an issue. It wasn't designed for electricians.
- Phillips head is 2D design
It's 2.5D. ;) Works fine.
- No Pocket clip
True. Perhaps it's a bit big to clip though.
- No lanyard ring
'Spose.
- “Silver” version is Grey and not silver
I prefer the all black anyway.
- Bit adaptor not designed for it and doesn’t fit very well.
Well correct.....But that's not the point of the OHT either.
Agree.... also it can fit on the small flathead if you must.
- Lock for sliding mechanism is annoying and useless (too easy to lock up)
Mine is neither so far.
- Bottle opener feels out of place, and should have been scissors instead (Scissors are one of the things that are essential for an infantryman in a tool of this kind (the MUT has scissors)))
I am not a beer drinker myself, and don't think I have ever used the bottle opener in my charge either. I will agree that, for the primary target group of the OHT (Military, Law Enforcement, First responders), it seems a bit like they just needed to fill the last tool slot with something and didn't really know what.
It's also a can opener, very handy for a soldier to have.
- Cutting hook is not useful for most people’s usage (Again, keep in mind tool is designed for Military / Law Enforcement and First responders (EMT, Firemen etc.))
I'm yet to properly use mine, we shall see...
- No file
True.
- Smallest flathead screwdriver is brittle and breaks easily.
Again, for me: time will have to tell.
As above.
- Unable to close tools with gloves on (Mixed opinions: others say it is done easily)
Don't know yet.
- Plier deployment has a bit of a Learning curve (You may be able to flick the pliers open in on shot, out of the box – but chances are it will take a week of fiddling before they find their way down their rails smoothly.)
You don't have to flick it - you can hold it by the buttons and use gravity.
- Pliers can destroy the inside of your pocket
Use the lock and/or don't wear it in your pocket.
...I'm a little disappointed with the engraving to be honest....doesn't look as nice as I had hoped. :(Looks nice to me.
It's probably more normal that the pliers tips don't quite meet up than are different sizes....I'm a little disappointed with the engraving to be honest....doesn't look as nice as I had hoped. :(Looks nice to me.
What were you hoping for?

Just landed! My first OHT, and a Limited Edition Camo to boot. More pics when I get a chance later (sneaked this pic at work after delivery...) :ahhh
The camo that Leatherman chose is an interesting design, based on a pattern released by KUIU in 2016 called Verde 2.0, for their clothing line. Presumably Leatherman licensed this pattern, or maybe not as there's no "under license" reference?
(Sorry about the upside down shots! Seems my PC orientation corrections don't carry through on the posts.)Niceeeeeeeeee, welcome to the OHT club, cheers.

I think at some point LM updated the graphic design of the OHT but it was never carried through to production.Perhaps it's a prototype pic before the tools evolved to what we know today. :dunno:
The OHT I got came with the same sheath as yours Max :tu:
What do you think of the sheath TP  :tu:
It’s a shame as they do look nice :think:What do you think of the sheath TP  :tu:
I've carried occasionally (most days really) since getting the OHT a few months ago,
and the sheath is visibly worn, :o and holding up poorly  (loose threading, velcro malfunctioning...)
definitely one of the worst sheaths I've had :ahhh

With enough Novocain I'm not sure we'd know what tool was used :dunno:? Tho that tool to the right of the OHT looks like the better tool for the job .First question, totally agree with you.Second, forceps that you mentioned can be used only for extracting right upper first molar,so OHT (Bonecrusher) wins, after all it is MT
Should i use OHT (BONECRUSHER) for tooth extraction? What's the tool in the middle with the three circles? I have bad memories of it...

What's the tool in the middle with the three circles? I have bad memories of it...Syringe for applying local anesthetic
Oh. That's not so bad. I was thinking of a thing that wraps a band around the tooth and gets tightened. :dunno:You were thinking on matrix, that is smaller, there are few systems for that purpose, main problem for patients is feeling of stabbing and increased pressure on gums, but it is necessary.

How do you guys find the handle splay on the OHT?When closed they feel about the same but the 600 is thinner. When open the 600 is wider, but you have to manually open it. When the OHT opens, or deployed, it opens on it’s own. Very nice!
I like how small the splay is on the mp600. Comparable or no?

would make a updated version :tu:
I would like to see scissors and the bit holder on the OHT
And newly designed handles :dd:
I feel the same about the Crunch :tu:
I would like to see scissors and the bit holder on the OHTI don't see those things as "updating" it any - just another option with a different toolset.
~I think that every tool made has the hope to be adopted for use by soldiers and to purchased for military contracts.
The OHT was targeted at a specific user - the military. But variations would be nice, although they are constrained by the design.
I haven’t had a chance to use a Gerber MT yet :facepalm:I have the MP400 and a Diesel. Both are good tools with good pliers and a wide choice of implements. The downside to me is that I must deploy the pliers to select a knife or any implement. Then retract the pliers to then utilize the implement, then do it all again to put it back away.

Anywhere from $150 up to the mid $300's. I like the tool, but I'm not sure why the market price is rising except that it's out of stock?
Keeping it going with another fun use! I also put the saw to work today cutting some branches from a trail.
