Title: FSOT Estwing EKA 'Swede 88' knife, $25 CONUS Paypal
Post by: Lynn LeFey on January 17, 2018, 01:34:54 AM
For sale or trade

Estwing branded EKA knife. The closest EKA model I can find is the 'Swede 88'. This knife seems to be identical with the exception of no lanyard hole.

Minor scratches on the blade, and normal signs of wear on the handle.

This knife is extremely comfortable in the hand, and light. The handle is one solid piece of Bubinga (rosewood). From what I've read, the knife is an exceptional slicer. Blade steel is 12c27. Please feel free to look up some of the reviews of the EKA 88 on youtube to get an idea about this knife.

Mostly interested in SAKs and other Multitools if you're looking to trade, but other items might interest me.

I asked a few days ago if anyone had more information on the Estwing EKA, and there wasn't much to be found, so I sent a message directly to EKA sales.

My Message
"To Whom it May Concern,
I was wondering if you could tell me if the 'Estwing' branded knife, made by EKA is the same as the EKA Swede 88, with the exception of the missing lanyard hole? Is it the same Sandvik 12c27 steel?
I can't find any information on this knife on-line and would greatly appreciate any assistance.
Thank you in advance."

And the response...
"Hello Lynn,
Yes, it is the older version of the Swede 88.
Best regards,
Chad Freeman"

So now I can say for certain, this IS a Swede 88. Just an older model.

Here's an insane cut test with one, for your amusement. :D
