Hi new to MTO and here's my question/problem. How do I change my name in this forum? I registered through tapatalk and well now I'm stuck with my email address as my name! Can someone please help me out with this? Its my email not my identity!
Thanks

Whoey did you receive my message with the name I would like to change to?
I had to send it through your tapatalk account. As I latter found out I couldn't pm until I made 5 posts. This should be 5!

I don't actually have tapatalk installed anymore sorry... so that'd be a no.

Let's all spam his mailaccount with loads of multitool adds!
Sometimes I feel evil for no reason...

I have definitely had my email hit with worse things than multitool ads! LOL
Not sure I'd consider that evil, maybe torture for making me lust for what I can't get(yet)!
Ok that would be evil! Lust is one of the 7 deadly sins after all.

By default the forum software forces you to password reset when the username changes, obviously it notifies by email, and you have managed to get through that unscathed.
Glad you're all sorted!

Cool name!

I'm just trying to recover from the idea that you may be two years older than me (assuming the "72" portion of your name is a birth year) and consider yourself an artefact. I'd always thought of myself more as a sprightly senior citizen than an artefact.... :ahhh
Def
-
Indeed, the 72 is my year'o'birth. I feel more like a very young at heart old soul! Either so young or to old that I can't even spell my own name correctly!

Ducttapetech thanks! I think yours is as well. In fact I find that I'm one quite often myself.

Whoey I was able to traverse that last bit pretty well and mostly unscathed! No physical harm though there bound to be a we bit of mental scarring but nothing a new multi can't fix!

That pretty much sums up the MTO mentality....
Something good happens, celebrate with a new tool.
Something bad happens, make yourself better with a new tool.
Nothing at all is happening, liven things up with a new tool....

We have been trying to buy a private island, but sadly the donations won't quite cover the down payment on anything we've seen that's worthwhile as the great kingdom of multitool.org so instead we use it to pay for this virtual island for us all to escape to...
-
Imagine the society we could build if we had our own island somewhere....
Def
-
It would never get built, we'd all spend to much time comparing multi tools, sak's etc and taking pics of them on rocks and stuck in logs to ever get any work done
-
I figured things would get built in record time, since we would want to compare every multitool and SAK against every other one!
In case anyone thinks I am joking about Multitool Island, here is my current research into the project....
Helmlow Island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/hemlow-island)
Mavuva Island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/mavuva-island-lots)
The aptly named Hangover Island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/hangover-island) since there would be more bottle openers and corkscrews per capita than any other island on the planet....
A totally different Long Island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/long-island2) than the one you probably think of
Jones Island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/jones-island)
And for people that actually don't want to be near the ocean, Stewards Island (http://www.privateislandsonline.com/islands/stewards-island)

Wasn't Sealand for sale some time ago??
-
Yes, but with absolutely no resources and very little actual space, 750 million euros is a bit steep! :ahhh
The above islands all have trees, lower price tags, harbours, and are all over 50 acres, so we wouldn't all be on top of each other! :ahhh
Def
-
yeah some greenery and space is essential for harmony
-
We would need a lot of trees for all the bonfires and to test all of our axes :D
And harbours are nice for the beer delivery boat, that would have to stop by once a day to refill all our fridges. :drink:
-
and space for fields for barley, hops and whatever else we need to brew our own beer! :drink:
-
Yes.
We would proably need a powerplant as well to power the MTO Brewery, MTO Destillery and the super high tech Multitool testing facility. :D
-
Multitool Pale Ale just has such a nice ring to it...
-
We can take over the island of misfit toys. That would give us plenty of things to use our multi tools on! You know, make them less misfity.

Islands generally receive a lot of wind, so I had planned on that, maybe some geothermal depending on the location and possibly some solar arrays offshore. That should provide more than enough power for anything we need. :D

Or use a windpowered dremel!
Rotation speed will vary day by day but...
Sounds awesome though, as long as there will be no Vic vs LM clan clashes :O

actually if you go offshore far enough the wind is pretty constant, which is one of the reasons why offshore windfarms are worthwhile.

I doubt there will be many Victorinox versus Leatherman clashes, largely due to the fact that we will be on an island and the Leatherman people will be constantly oiling and wiping their tools to keep the rust away! :ahhh
