Always be wary of a younger sister with a camera giving photo directions . Possibly karma as I had  just made my first snow ball to throw at my kid sister , when I made my hasty descent. Happened at the base (still bloody steep)of Cypress Mountain , the same slope will be used for some of the down hill skiing events in the coming winter Olympics.

This shot was taken at Wigwam Inn as some mist rolled in , the Inn is located at the North end of Indian Arm , a very scenic boat trip a bit over 90mins out of Vancouver harbor a great little boat ride.

Sure for the small fee of a riveted PST :D :D I was stoked how well the photos came out , I bought the cheapest compact I could find a Samsung s630($75us) it powers through the rechargeables though. The original on photobucket is a 800X600 (83kb) pic . I will post it , you will have to talk me through it if you want a larger pic/file.    http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll287/multimat426/holiday/S6300144.jpg[/img]](http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll287/multimat426/holiday/S6300144.jpg) (http://[IMG)

MultiMat, my EDC camera that I bought 2 weeks ago is also a Samsung S630. You made the right choice in buying that camera. BTW, what is the color of your Samsung S630?

I love this camera because it has so many features that are so useful to me.

Eddie my s630 is identical too the one in your photo (its silver), I did not get the camera bag though. I think the only negative is the way it goes through batteries. I was very happy with the sale persons recommendation to go with the s630. The only time I had trouble getting the pic I wanted was in Saint Patrick's Cathedral  New York, I wanted to get some shots of the amazing stained glass, the bright + dark environment proved too challenging for the little Samsung.

Mat, what aspect about the battery you don't like? Are you using alkaline batteries? I suggest you use nickel metal hydride (NiMh) such as Eneloop, it has a longer runtime than alkaline.

The pouch comes with the camera inside the box and there is no option to buy only the camera.

I bought 6 pcs. Eneloop so that I will have 4 spares at all times when I travel. When I was in Manila last June 30 to July 2, I took so many pictures but the 2 Eneloop was ufficient for the task and I was not able to use my spare batteries.

Eddie I am using 2500 NiMh rechargeable batteries, they are not Eneloops & I use a fast charger which I have read is a no no . The fact that the camera only has X2 AA batteries , is that a issue ? I suspect if I got Eneloops & used a slow charger I would get better mileage out of the batteries. I got the camera on sale & nothing was included not even a token memory card  :( . But I can not complain, it is so compact & takes  not bad shots.

I'm using a slow charger, Mat. It takes 16 hours to fully charge the Eneloops.

You got your S630 cheap. I got mine at 5,000 pesos or equivalent to 110 USD. 1GB memory card, 2 batteries and pouch included.

Nice pix Matt.    I have a similar pic on film of Lake Louise from a motorcycle trip I took in college.   What a beautiful area.
