My new Skeletool was delivered yesterday. Bought it from Amazon.com; really good deals on Leatherman. Anyway, love the tool. Very well made and a good size. Only problem was the spare slotted screwdriver bit that stores in the handle was not there? Tool was completely sealed in plastic carton so Leatherman did not include it. Will call them tomorrow. Any similar ommisions?

My wave came with a bit. Call Leatherman I'm sure they will send 1 bit.

Leatherman is usually pretty good about customer service- I am certain if you have a legitimate complaint (and it sounds like you do!) they will look after you.
I have heard problems with bits not being included before, but very rarely. Leatherman is usually pretty meticulous about what gets out there!

That would irritate every OCD nerve in my body!

Yep I bought a LM lockback a while back the kind that came with 3 double sided bits and 1 was missing :ahhh I emailed them and told them and they sent not 1 but all 3 :o just to make sure they sent the right one :tu: LM QC is usually top notch so I don't think you'll have a problem ;)
Owe and welcome to the forum

Lol - on the Skeletool, one missing bit almost halves it's utility!
I'm sure they'll send a new one out to you if you e-mail or phone them 28gauge. It's nice to here you like the tool too, it really seems to divide opinion amongst the guys here. Personally I really like it, and carried one today whilst walking, "travelling light".
I hope they sort you out quickly and painlessly :tu:

Welcome to the forums 28gauge,let us know what leatherman does, but pretty sure they will send you one also.& :salute:

Some time ago we had that complaint too, and we had to check all the new Skeletools in their boxes.
What we found was that the cavity normally holding the bit was too wide on quite a number of Skeletools, so any bit placed in there could easily fall out.
Next to this there were also quite a few Skeletools that had their bitholderspring working it's way out from under the locking tab, so that couldn't hold a bit anymore also.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. I received a Skeletool CX today gift and for the most part it looks and works great. Only problem is the Phillips head bit was missing, and the flat head bit was not catching in the driver. It was also bought from Amazon. I will be getting in touch with LM after the weekend.

Let us know how you make out- you never know how much the next guy finding this thread will appreciate knowing what happens next!

I will. I spoke to LM customer service yesterday and they said they would be sending me a new bit and a spring. Waiting Anxiously.

So I just got the replacement bit and what look like some spring clips, but I'm having a devil of a time figuring out how the spring clips fit in there can anyone help me out?

Can youpost a pic ?

So after much frustration trying to fix the Skeletool myself, I just wound up contacting the Warranty department at LM, they sent me a new one at no extra charge, and it works fine now.

Good news. :tu:
