Title: What are these white spots on my victorinox knife?
Post by: Scott_Servais on June 02, 2015, 04:21:48 AM
It's on the stainless steel and won't come off.  It looks like mineral deposits but I've never got it wet.  I've just kept it in the drawer ever since I got it.  Anyone else have this problem?

That looks like the dividers between layers, so it'd be aluminum and not stainless steel. If it is the divider you're referring to, then I'm pretty sure those spots are the aluminum oxide coating being slightly discolored (I think from when they are punched into shape).

It's on the liners which are indeed aluminum. It's an oxide coating from the liners not being polished smoothly.  I've had the same thing with brand new ones. No worries.
