I've been thinking about buying one of these for years now, and last week I noticed that they were on sale at one of my regular Dutch webshops, so I went for it and got me a Crunch. They only had a discount on the Crunch with nylon sheath while I prefered the leather sheath, but then I saw they also had a discount on the Leather sheath itself, so now I got the nylon and leather sheath for less than the price of the Crunch with leather sheath alone ... ::)
When I opened the Leatherman box I noticed it had a new style nylon Leatherman sheath, which I really like. But weird enough, the Crunch itself has date code 0113 in it (and it certainly looks and feels brand new). Does this mean that this Crunch was made 5 years ago and has been sitting in stock at the Leatherman factory all this time to be packaged only a couple of months ago, when the new sheath was introduced :think:.

I really like the crunch. I'll be carrying one with me tomorrow at work. I've a feeling some of the isolators I've got to open will need a pair of locking pliers on the wingnuts to move them

I bought my Crunch with the old pouch version in January 2018
and it has the same date code 0113
So maybe we both been sold a old LM Crunch model :rofl:

But in my opinion, the older the date code on a Leatherman, the better ;).
I was surprised by how small and thin it is, I was expecting it to be a bit bigger. But I really like its size and feel, it has that old Leatherman feel in my opinion, and fit and finish were just perfect :tu:.

Congrats. Im guessing they had one sitting yes and decided to package it with the newer nylon sheath. Neat you got the newer version sheath.

Thanks guys, I was happy to see that it came with the new sheath, I already own one (from my Wave +), and I really like them. Only wish the new style sheath with the side pockets was available over here ...

But I only noticed the discount after I searched for the Crunch ... so I thought of buying it first, and when I saw the current price it pushed me over the edge ;).
