Title: Re: fuse vs blast locks
Post by: Mercury on May 24, 2010, 09:50:15 AM
The newer fuse/blast models have beefier locks anyway, and from what I can tell, the stress points are identical in both models.  The biggest problem with the locks is the pivot pins.  In the older models, they were smaller and tended to break easily.  I have regularly carried 2 different Blasts for 2+ years, and I have never had a problem.  If you look, you will see that it is the same lock as the fuse, just a little wider.  You really shouldn't have to worry about your multi's locks in a survival situation anyway, because your main blade should be a strong folder.  As long as that is the case, a stock fuse should do you just fine, but I would go with a blast for the saw.
