Title: Carbon Fiber PLA scales
Post by: bba952 on June 10, 2017, 04:47:36 PM: I have been trying to make some scales on my new 3d printer. i have been printing them with Proto-Pastas Carbon Fiber PLa. the PLA is 20 % carbon fiber and gives the scales a matt black finish. ive been playing around with some designs too and just felt like posting them to get some kind of feedback. Tell me what you think

Post by: bba952 on June 10, 2017, 05:48:05 PM: Since they have the cabon fiber in them when i tried to print them as a hollow piece they are alot stiffer than the original scaled but are more brittle.

When you print the scales as a 100% solid they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy stiffer and more durable than the any normal plastic scale. and there is no added "heavyness" to the knife.
