I'll offer this but I'm not sure it's worthy.

(Having seen his last pictures, I'd strongly suggest that we do an extra "Sneider-Edition" of the calendar.
It would be outstanding and very Swiss!

Grant, I'd assume the calander is in horizontal layout and not vertical correct? May help with the submissions. Just turn them cell phones sideways when snapping your photos. Or if you're using a "real" camera you're good to go from the get ;)
-
It is indeed, but on some collage type pages I use different photos on each page, so portrait photos can work too.

Bubinga handles... made out of pure plastic. Grrrr.
Also a Swedish knife, at a Swedish price. But maybe made in China. They don't say on the packaging. Grrrr.

Really? I don't want to not believe you and I've mostly seen older knives and they are all wood but I find it unreasonable. If nothing else because Swedish consumer law is fairly strong and they shouldn't be able to get away with such a thing. Might it be stabilised wood? Treated with epoxy to last, that could explain marketing it as Bubinga but having a plastic feel to it. Have you disassembled the knife to check the inside of the scales?

The EKA website says "Ergonomic checkered G10 Camo wooden handles" - the online shop I purchased from said "Bubinga". The packaging itself says "Eka Swede 9 Wood.... Handle material: Camo-Wood." So I guess that's plastic.
Nowhere on the packaging does it say "Made in....." which is weird. I have heard that they make all their knives in China. I don't know if this is true. All I know is that they have done a stellar job of making me feel stupid. Did I really spend 62 euros on a Chinese-made knife with plastic handles? Seems so.
I've seen videos about their other knives and clearly the wood on them is real wood! But the Swede 9 seems to be a bit of an exception. There's very little about it on Youtube, just one vid made by a Russian guy - and I don't speak Russian.
Maybe I'll make a video myself to save people making the same mistake.

Indeed it looks like they have gone through quite a lot of trouble to deceive customers, especially in combination with how retail sites then word it. It is also really easy to mix things up since the Swede 8 and 10 is available in real wood (according to EKAs site). I'm sorry you got a bad deal, I have been reasonably happy with my EKA knives but then most of them have been used and priced accordingly. I wasn't impressed with the edge on the Nordic H8 I picked up but at least it is real wood!

Not a lot of spare time myself lately. But during lunch break, after dinner, etc I'm able to take a quick peek thanks to Tapatalk.
Then again, I'm about to fill my new tool drawer with my multis in a few minutes so that might count as some MTO time as well...
It'll empty a box from the moving so it'll keep the girlfriend happy as well!
Talking about a win-win situation :dd:
-
Thanks for the sweet comments my friends :hatsoff:.
All these pics are quite old, I don't seem to find the time to take new ones these days, my wife and kids gave me two Terävä Jääkäripuukko 110's, and I've not yet found the time to take them out for a fieldtest and/or photoshoot ... ::).

Filling a multitool drawer (or anything that has something to do with multitools) is considered as "playtime" by my wife :P. (And she's right, I consider it playtime myself ;)).

I'm hoping to spend more time with my MTO family again soon, I'm missing you guys ...
But since the birth of our little girl Caitlin last april it's been pretty hectic here, no more babysitting help from my parents or my wife's parents (which they told us about a week before my wife had to start working again, while during the pregnancy, they told us we could count on their help ...) me and my wife are both working full time jobs, both having to work weekends (my wife every other weekend, and me one weekend out of four), which makes that we only have one weekend out of four that we are home together ... My boss reorganising the team I work in, letting outside companies take over half of our work, leaving us with almost no more job security ... while we can work our a**es off to correct all the mistakes these outside companies make ...
Anyway, no need to trouble you guys with my personal problems while other people have a lot bigger problems than mine :-[.

It sure is!
I think the February contest is already done and dusted but what then hell, here's my new Böker. I don't know why it's on top of a Victorinox. Maybe trying to make a Böker Zero-Cadet baby which would be something to behold. A Cadero, or a Zeret...

Great pics guys .
Love the Spartan on the Rocks Steve, for some reason it made me think of a Coca-Cola commercial, you see ice cubes, something red, and the brain goes ... Coca-Cola ::). That's brand recognition at it's best :D.
But I do like the Spartan version a lot more than the Coca-Cola one ;).
And Sneider, what we call vacation pics are just "stepping out the backdoor" pics to you it seems ... Do you have a garden shed large enough to house a family of five ? :pok: :pok: :pok:
Gareth, are those snowdrop flowers (or "sneeuwklokjes", as we say in Dutch) ? The green really makes your pic stand out ... love it :tu:.

Thanks TG ! :hatsoff:
-
Cheers TG. :) Yup, those are indeed snowdrops. I thought I'd get something nice and seasonal in there.
-
Thank you, TG
I live and work near these mountains and love it!
My garden shed is definitely too small. But there are nice apartments for rent here ...

Just a few days left until the end of the month! If there are any more February shots, you'd better get them in ASAP!

Yes, I know it's not a multitool.

Yes it is. Knives are some of man's first multi tool. It cuts, scrapes, slices, guts, skins and etc.
Cool pic btw.

I do believe I posted a pic of a Finnish Puukko once, with a title "Finnish Multitool", so yes, this is accurate :D

Great pic Gareth  :like: :like:

Must be poll time yeah? So upload, name, describe, poll? This might take a while...

Yeah well that was interesting. Hope I didn't make too many mistakes. February 2018 Photo Poll (http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,71044.0.html)

Looked quite professional to me :tu: and a bit more involved and complicated than I would have been able to do  :D

It actually wasn't too bad. Pretty sure you're more than able mate. Have you sorted out your gallery login?

Don't think I have ever gotten one  I will try and remedy that by this weekend :salute:

Okay, I'm an idiot .
Today I was going through the "2018 Calendar Photos-May" (https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,71866.30.html) topic when I read this post ...
So you just post one here? How about this one?
Enter as many pics as you like. Just have to be taken during May.
Note, I can't vote for anything wearing green and yellow.
Like I said in my post in this topic, I've missed the Januari topic and when I read the first post of the Februari topic I didn't notice that the pics had to be taken during that month, I thought we could just post any pic we wanted, so I just searched my photobucket account for pics that had a "winter feeling" to post here.
It was only after reading Zoidberg's post in the May topic (yes, it took me that long ... :-[) that I noticed my mistake ...
So I would like to withdraw my pics from this topic.
My apologies for creating this mess :surrender:.
Feel free to use the :imws: smiley after any of my posts, because "stupid" is the best word to describe yours truly ...

Nar mate, it's all good.
I wasn't around when this started either so you're not the only one playing catch up.
The way I see it, Def didn't explain all the rules in the op so nerr.

Also I'm thinking we need to have a wild card month at some point for peeps to enter older pics so keep a look out for that one.

The wild card idea is a good one :tu: Maybe since July is the anniversary month that might be a thought as well
Also no big deal TG :tu: I like all your pics anyways and it would good to have any of them in the calendar :like:
