I was given a PST recently and man, this thing is awesome! It's so light and compact. I like carrying it more than my Wave. So, I was wondering who carries the PST as their EDC multi-tool?
-
I have mine in a carrier in my lunchbox everyday. Will grab picture later.
Love it!

The PST is more than capable for EDC. It's all I carried for 20 years until I found this forum looking for an updated version. I still carry one fairly regularly but I rotate through different models now. :tu:
-
Not the PST, but the Sideclip. The slightly thicker handle material, slightly wider smallest flat driver, and pocket clip, make a big difference for me.

It has been a while but I use to carry a PST quite regularly :tu: I can pair it with a small SAK and have everything that I need  :like:

My late 90s PST rides in my wife's car. She likes it because it's so straightforward. No locks and easy to get at the tools. I honestly want to do a month of carrying mine again exclusively. For its limitations, it's exactly what it was designed to be: a pocket survival tool.

Exactly Poncho!

Used to carry a PST II a lot. Until I decided to break it down for parts (it had some small issues). The PST and PST II are perfect for pocket carry and EDC; they have just enough tools to get you out of a bind with no other "junk", and it's no bigger nor heavier than a standard pocketknife. I know I guy who carried one since the early 1990s. On another note, I need to get a PST.

PST is in the rotation and gets carried and used often! :tu:

The PST is a wonderful tool. Glad you find I appealing and are carrying it. I keep one in my cook kit. Its slim and very capable so its earned it spot. I like the straightforwardness of the PST unfortunately for EDC I prefer my Charge TTi.
-
I have the PST II in my rotation. Love the compact size and the loadout :like:
-
I carry mine sometimes, but I prefer the skeletool or charge TTI
-
Love my PSTs for light weekday carry. In my rotation schedule more than most of my MTOs. :like:

PST II every day, and rotate a Grand Prix (SAK mod.) or SAK Huntsman with it. Skeletool CX in the bike tool bag.

I'd post a picture, but no matter what I try, the file size is too large.
Edit: it'll let me use it as my avatar, so it's up there now haha
Also, I'm loving all the pics everyone has posted!

The PST was my first mt and I loved it. After being without one for close to 18 years, I recently acquired one. I have been carrying it recently and love everything about it.

I do, it's my favourite multitool of all time. I have three... well two and enough spares to make another. All of mine are from 94 (for no apparent reason) and have a lovely vintage feel to them, both the handle and tool stock has a lovely thickness and all the implements are nicely tooled - none of that rounded on one side pressed nonsense of the later tools.

Have carried a PST for 25+ years in my pocket, was wanting to get a new 1, they was discontinued, so i just lived with what I have. Then seen them reintroduced for $150, think I'll not be replacing it, with a new 1. BUT, i did find a like new 1 with a broken tweeky screwdriver in a pawn shop for $15 last week....

Welcome to :MTO: dogknott!
PST is a great tool and has a loyal following. Here are a couple of mine that I carry regularly.
-
Welcome aboard! Nice ones Max!
-
Welcome to :MTO: dogknot :salute: the 35 year PST was out of my price range by a long shot as well ::) glad you found a deal on a regular one at a Pawn Shop :tu:
Excellent pic , Max :like:
-
Thanks Poncho. :hatsoff:
Much more fun finding a good deal that you don’t need to worry about using.
-
Very true Max :salute: I find it much easier to use a second hand tool over a brand new one :tu: not always but most of the time anyways :D
-
I don't mind using the PST in my camp cook set. Its come in handy for small adjustments for my stoves. Its slim and has just enough tools to get the job done. Nice PSTs Max. The PST2 is a good one with the addition of scissors.
-
It makes a great camping or hiking tool... lightweight with just what you need.

:iagree: It's a great little tool really. It used to bother me that it didn't have a saw, but had a file instead. Then I figured, well actually, there's more chance of me having a folding saw on me anyway rather than a file. Who carries a file on its own (actually, probably most of you lot - bunch of freaks) or a folding file when out and about?
-
A Freak I shall be :hatsoff: :D I carry a couple folding files plus at work I may have a couple regular files in my back pocket  ;)

I love my files, so I’m also a freak I guess?

Yep, thought so, bunch of freaks...

I shall wear this mantle of freakishness with pride :salute:
-
. I have to admit I've actually used my Rebar file too. A freak I shall be, but in good company!
-
Actually, what I'm trying to get at, is that... actually what am getting at? What I'm trying to get at is, is that I like having the file on the pst.... because I've probably got the saw bit covered... but not the file... if you know what I mean...?... I DON'T KNOW!?
-
I get it cuz ! ;)

I know, I know, this is all a bit 'fuzzy' :pok:

I really wanted to put a saw in my PST, but I feel like the locking saw in my Wave is much safer.
-
I (along with some others here) have a SOG saw in mine and it works pretty good :tu: will have to track some pics down of the mod or take some new ones
