I'm starting a new job tomorrow for an event management company. Part of my duties include inventory and technical work of equipment (not a workshop technician) more in the field and smaller repairs until a time until management decide to maybe put me through an electronic internship.
So I have one of those maxpedition case just a small one maybe one up from the micro. Really want to try a Fatty or Beefy but they're not cheap here.
I want to have a small selection of sockets 6mm-13 any ideas for the best way to store them in the case? They came with a bahco bit set but the case broke so I pulled the foam out and stuck it in the top tray of my toolbox.
I'm thinking of using some wire or something but not sure yet.

Hey there,
Maybe some kind of wire carabine could do the job? But keep in mind, it's nice to have any tool readily available, without any screwing action... I myself love those rubber-holders, basically just a thick rubber-band with added bays for the sockets. ( edit - wow, they're customizable now... we truly live in the future!)

I've always carried mine on something similar to tomcats, but there's plenty of different ways, really depends on how your carrying them.

I have to do a lot of repairs in the field as well. The wire idea works to keep them together, but is a pain to get to the one you need. I settled on a soft type pencil case. The ones that fit in binders. I have a cloth one with a zipper. It was $1 during school shopping season. It's not optimal, but they all stay together and I keep a ratchet and extensions in there too. I always have my crunch in me as well for when I have to hold the other side of the bolt. Good luck, let me know what you come up with

I just stack them on a long machine screw. Here are 1/4 5/16 3/8 7/16 and 1/2 in my micro

I like this a lot, and may have to steal it, thanks! :salute:
