I have a PST that was a gift in 2000. Recently I was wondering what one of these cost at the time. It would actually be interesting to know what each tool cost at launch. I've also got a well-loved Juice, which has gotten more use due to its size.

I can't remember what they cost in 2000, but a brand new PST cost $40 in 1984 in the Early Winters catalog.

Welcome to :MTO:
That is definitely an interesting topic and I am hopeful we could get some prices for tools when they first came out  :tu:

When I began buying Leatherman MTs several years ago, Leatherman definitely had a different marketing strategy. For my part, this was Leatherman's golden age. I would still rather carry a Blast or Kick than an ARC. The Fuse was produced from 2004 - 2012.

I seem to remember that my PST was around $35-40 in the mid 90's

In 2010, I paid $28 for a Leatherman PS4 on Amazon. I don't remember what they cost when they were discontinued, but it was basically twice that.

I do remember seeing the Rev at Lowes on sale for $19.99 when they were first released :o
I think they might have been around $24.99 or so for a long while.
The Wingman was somewhere around $30 and the Sidekick was $35. They are significantly higher than that now

That's what I remember, as well.
And I bought a brand new 1994 Toyota SR5 pickup with vinyl floor mats, crank windows and no radio (but it DID have factory a/c) for $ 12,700.00 OUT THE DOOR.

Pocket Tool: $45.00
Leather Pouch: $3.95
They were later slightly cheaper through Cabelas.

I bought my Wave (2nd gen) not long after release - I think it was about £80 - Pretty expensive - But UK prices are/were always high for LMs >:(
PS - Very interesting topic - I bet prices increases will way outstrip inflation

$47 for a Leatherman Wave back in 2004.

I was living in South Africa and I got my mate's girlfriend to buy me a Wave in 1998 when she was visiting New York and it cost 42$US .
I gave him the money to forward on but I think it may have ended up in his beer fund so she was grumpy with me for a long time. Somehow it was my fault :dunno: and no , I had none of the beer.
