I knew an old fella from BC (very interesting man actually, pilot WW2, one of the last Government Indian Agents up in the Yukon, among other things etc, etc...) who was missing an index finger. He told me that, when he was a boy, he and his little brother used to get sent out in all weathers to gather fire wood and kindling.

Being the smartarse that he was, he thought he was being clever by assuming the supervisory role, while his brother did all the hard work with an axe... His idea of supervising was pointing at the things that needed cutting with an axe and the brothers coordination skills with an axe weren't too hot... let's just say they didn't get into a natural rhythm one day.

It's a Øyo sportsøks made in Norway. Øyo makes knives and axes/hatchets.
If you google oyo sporting axe you might find it  It's not the sharpest, but it sharpens up really easy and quick.
