lots of problems.

PM's seem messed up too.

Lots of having to repeat posts to get them to post correctly.

I feel violated.

yes, can't get in, long wait for threads to open, and these error pages
and asking me if I want to open things in my browser!

Yep. Looks like more server issues. Felinevet, and SOSAK web site also affected.
Title: Re: Problems with board?

It's all on the same server- Multitool.org, SAKWiki, SOSAKOnline, Felinevet and Rotokid's shops along with at least a half dozen knife industry related websites, like those of a bunch of custom makers (which I host, free of charge I might add!) and Onscenetactical.com, so as you can imagine, when we go down it affects a lot of people.

I still don't know what the cause was, nor do I know yet whether or not it's actually fixed, but I will keep everyone informed, and I will voice my displeasure at the amount of downtime we have had lately.

still seems flakey this morning for me... at least I didn't get any sites when I first tried, similar to when I went to bed 6h ago...

Yep, it was up for a bit and then down again for a few hours. When it was up, I couldn't post because my session id was littered with garbage characters.

I still get blank pages until I reload the page once or twice though...

server load and memory seem to be spiking which then seems to cause the outages... hopefully the admin on the other side of the pond will wake up soon and have a look at it...

Yes, still dicey this morning.

I get a random issue where when I click on this forum or a thread and I get this message...

"Internet Explorer cannot find a connection"

Followed by a "Diagnose Connection" button.

If I click back on the forum or thread again, it will usually let me in.

Seems to occur at random.

Pulling dragging this conversation out the gutter for a second, how do you find the site looks on the ipod?

<@ at our all knowledgeable behind the scenes tech types>  Do SMF do an ipod / high end mobile mobile optimisation bolt on for the forum software?  Quite a few of us are running smartphones these days, it'd be very handy.

I know the SMF software has built in support for mobiles WAP, WAP2 and imode and I've used the WAP2 variant to browse the forum OK but its a little spartan.  You have a willing beta tester here :D

Seems to be better now, was loading a bit slow before  :)

Winamp also decided to play silly beggars with me today, stuttering on everything it tried to play. Thought there was something eating at my CPU at first...turns out it was just winamp being stupid, quick reinstall and it's all good.... i hate technology sometimes I really do!!

We will be migrated to a new server overnight as the "new" one we are currently on never seemed to work properly.  With any luck, by tomorrow we will be set!
