hello all, first post here. thought id show a couple of my vintage pieces off.
first up is the ash flash
(http://i50.tinypic.com/2rrb0ur.jpg)
it is a flashlight/screwdriver combo.
next is a multitool only marked solingen germany.
it has a hammer, saw, pliers, file, flat head, phillips, drill, chissel, and blade. it is all contained in a zippered leather case.
i cant find anything on this one. i have searced and found similar items, but none quite like this one. anyone have any idea on the value? seen one similar on ebay for around $60, but with less tools
well thanks for looking

First of all, welcome to MTO. :salute:
Great first post. :tu: The knife multitool set is one I've been after for some time now. The one you have looks great. I like how you use the knife as a handle for all the other tools. And the backspring on the knives are usually very thick and strong. :tu: There were a couple of makers producing those around the globe in the '50s and '60s I believe. I know Imperial made them in the USA, a few makers in Germany (I've seen a few Hoffritz ones too) and a Hungarian factory Kéziszerszámgyár made them too.
As for the price, it varies, depending on condition and tool selection. People can ask an price on ebay that doesn't mean someone will pay it. I've seen them go for from $20 to a couple of hundred dollars. There's one on ebay right now for $300+ :ahhh

im actually debating selling both of them. i had got laid off and need $$$$. havent totally made up my mind. they both have very minor blemishes from sitting for 50+ years before i recovered them. they both look completely unused.
ive always had a thing for knives, multi tools and flashlights. these both were right up my ally.
the backspring is strong. thought i was going to break my nail opening it. i havent actually attached any tools to the knife though

Welcome!
The Solingen kit is a fairly sought after old kit. Looks to be in really good shape too!
Like the others said, I've never seen the flashlight screwdriver! That's actually brilliant! :)

ive decided to sell both.
ill be asking $25 for the ash flash combo
ill be asking $100 obo for the solingen multi tool set. i still havent been able to find a definate value for it, and im sure auctions arent allowed on the forum. so as i figure... start high and if someone really wants it, theyll take it at the high price.
keep an eye out in the for sale forum for these

They aren't really that pricey, usually go for $20-50 depending on condition and tool selection in the kit, though some nicer sets can fetch more.
