I have been reading this article this morning, about one of my all time favorite airplanes.
https://www.historynet.com/the-warplane-nobody-wanted.htm
While the article is well worth sharing, a specific passage made me have to share it here. :D
“If history tells us anything,” Ian Hogg wrote in his book Tank Killing, “it tells us that can openers are better than Swiss army knives for opening cans.”
Fighting words to some of us, but certainly hard to argue with! :tu:

All good lads love the Warthog.
I'm currently a few miles from the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, Florida. The V-22 Ospreys have been flying up and down the coast. In the age of jet engines, their giant props seem almost comical. But still very cool.

Also one of my favorites. What a specialized killer.

I've had the sheer pleasure of seeing them in action, stomping all over armour.
Gave me a semi to be sure, oh and very happy thoughts I was on the same side as them.

I have two rules for combat:
1) Always fight on the side that has the Warthogs.
2) Always fight on the side using Apaches.
Keep those in mind, and you can't go wrong.

I'd give you a 99% agreement on that- there is definitely something to be said for the MI 24 Hind, which carries similar armament to an Apache, plus has a dozen heavily armed commandos in the trunk, just in case. :D
