I'm in.Just post like crazy when you return, add some pictures of your bike and you will be fine :salute:
BUT, I will be away for four days on a motorbike trip. OHT will go with and I will update the posts on my return. We will not have any interwebby connectivity. Ah, the world without any electronic devices. If that is not OK, count me partially in.
Pete

Sometimes Eth, I feel like you deliberately typo prize to wind me up. :P:drink:
Z, you need to enter this Challenge.
...I re-broke a finger so maybe I should.
...I re-broke a finger so maybe I should.
Ouch, OHT will be perfect then.
Ouch... hope it heals well.
you can win this LEGO FIRST ORDER BATTLE PACK :ahhh
I suppose I'll need to locate a camera tonight.Try with the OHT first, if it doesn't work use something else. The job needs to be done and the challenge should not prevent that. Besides, we want to learn the limits of a tool, if we don't fail we probably didn't push enough.
It's been three months since I last used one.
What are the rules regarding other items, saks, mts, knives etc?
I could totally get into Lego Star Wars. It may be the missing link in my hoarding continuum of MTs, SAKs, knives, guns, lights and Maxpedition bags.As it stands, chance at winning is pretty good :D
Hey Zoid
How is the finger doing?
Current weather looking VERY wet for the bike trip!!!. Got some new fog lights fitted and have more than 500m of visible yellow light now! Yea BABY!!! LED Rock!!!
I agree about the cutting hook. It is really useful. Especially opening stuff or getting in where a blade cannot or will damage. I use it quite a bit.
The curry looks nice.
Cheers,
Pete
The motivational phrase for the Signal Challenge was Only the elite will compete. I'm not sure what the phrase for the OHT Challenge can be. Only the cattle will battle?

I used a Sharpie to mark the main blade for quick reference, but it quickly wears off. Maybe I'll scratch a big X into it. I find the icons on the scales a little hard to see.
I'm thankful that the x-rays showed no damage to the joints so no surgery required.
I just need to keep it taped up for the month.
Hello every one, good question... can't find it either.
I'm new OHT owner form Poland ( central Europe) ;)
And question I have, where is production date on it??
Lil was all smiles when I got home today. She had tested the board and was liking it.:tu:

Unless someone sees a date code somewhere, I'll email Leatherman and inquire.

But what are we seeing in that image... looks like a hair:
From Leatherman:Ok, so how they treat 25 years warant?? From what date if I dont have bill ??? Since today, if exchange 1 LM supertool 200 but it has date
"We stopped a few years ago putting handle dates on our tools. I’m guessing it was to eliminate an extra step in manufacturing the tools which can help keep cost down for customers. So there are no handle dates on your OHT.
I’m told the N and O are likely just identifications for the molds that are used for that particular jaw. I don’t have that on my sample tool, so it may have been added later than my particular tool was manufactured."

Day 4
Opened some cans today... I definitively would say it was a fail, not an expert but that was the worst can opener I ever used.
Z, that's an awesome image of the saw. How did you bring that about? It looks like the light is hitting it from the 8:00 direction. Reminds me of the "identify this pic" thread you did a while back.

Great action shoots Zoidberg :salute: ... well done and cool use of the hook!
Well, I don't use can-openers a lot and I haven't used the one on the MP-600... greatest thing about the MP-600 is that it is so easy to remove the can-opener :DDay 4

Ok.. I'm in as long as all 3 of you are ok with it?
Should tonight or tomorrow be the first day considering I wont have it until I get home at about 6:00pm? Don't want to cheat y'all out of a day but at the same time don't want to make you wait for the drawing any longer that i have to.

Day 6
didn't really use the OHT all day... so I used it to exchange the blade on my EAB. The screwdriver works well but the size of the tool makes it a bit un-wieldy.
Ok.. I'm in as long as all 3 of you are ok with it?
I'm cool. I'm going to buy a dang Lego Star Wars set for myself if I don't win this one, so I'm golden no matter what.
Great bunch of pics today guys   :like:

All ready to start my challenge tomorrow! By the way Z, looking at the wear on yours makes me wish i chose black. I dig it :tu:
Day 1: challenge starts today! Just noticed that my washer fell loose from my hook tool from last night when I tried to see if the wave scissors would fit. Thankfully, it fell out on my desk. I wont be home tonight si I will just have to fix it tomorrow night. The tool still opens and works fine.

Missed yesterday... but then I can hardly award the price to myself :P
Anyway
LATE DAY 7
Friend used up the last of my tape, so I had to make a new package.
Ever once in a while the piece of bike-tube comes in handy to be cut into small rubber bands.

It was a terrible pun, I'm sorry.
Day 13I agree with you there!!
Food duty... not the best knife for this kind of task.
Sorry guys, bit busy at the present, but I try to check in here daily.
Zoids... like the worn look on your OHT, do you carry it much (outside of the challenge?)
PN... your OHT looks like mine feels in the pocket :D
g-doodler... nice setup :tu:
I only have the hate part... once the challenge is over, all I might miss is the hook, but the OHT won't get in my pockets anymore.Sorry guys, bit busy at the present, but I try to check in here daily.

Day 15Swiss made coke?
Unpacking my caffeine fix.

coke is almost always produced locally, so yes Swiss Coke (made about 5km from where I live). Although this is the real Swiss Cola:Day 15Swiss made coke?

I enjoy testing out a new tool... even when I dislike the tool, there is always something to be discovered. This was the very first tool with belt cutter thingy (BCT) I really pocket carried. And I have to say, I used it a lot, now if I have to figure out how I can sharpen it. In the end I won't be carrying the OHT in future but I think I learned a lot about the BCT.I only have the hate part... once the challenge is over, all I might miss is the hook, but the OHT won't get in my pockets anymore.Sorry guys, bit busy at the present, but I try to check in here daily.

Ah i see. Coke headquarters is in the nearest big city to me so I thought most of it came from there. They do have a section where you can try coke from all countries though so that should have tipped me off to the fact that they are made elsewhere as well. Some countries' coke is quite different than the one I knowcoke is almost always produced locally, so yes Swiss Coke (made about 5km from where I live). I'm guessing that Doggie is 11.She is about 4 or 5. I cant remember which. Pure Golden Retriever.
Don't believe what she says. Chicks lie about their age. Everyone knows this. She's at least 9 years old.

Mostly no but some like the pressure rated irrigation line did take effort.

The girls got new tarps. This is me halfway ish through cutting and melting the new guy lines. Not the most fun job.

Which one is you ? :P
And, what was that blue thing :pok:
Yes, not hair shaving sharp but it will easily shave my fingernail so it should be cutting stuff like cardboard and string easily, which it doesn't.
In order of preference, I like the Spirit's butter knife, then 111mm Fireman, Soldier 2008 and Swisstool's blade (sheepsfoot version). You?
BTW, do you have any recommendations for this thread https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,71153.0.html ?

Yes, but it is in dire competition with highlighting the tools on the scales.(https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2827/33672811106_74b5bc5d82_b.jpg)Did you do anything other than changing the scales? Any mods?
Nar, just didn't have enough time to do more. Just the scales change mod. It is counted as a mod right?

I like all those too. And the ST200. Can't help you with tarps sorry, I generally go for the larger stronger cheaper ones.

No worries :) At least, you people got tarps! If I want anything different than a tarpaulin I have to order it from abroad :-\

If they are in outdoor shops here they would be stupid expensive, I haven't bothered looking for them.
I buy regular tarps from hardware shops.

I think you misunderstood me. I buy hardware shop tarps. Not label/fancy/quality tarps at the hardware shop.

Nope, I understood that perfectly well.
I don't want fancy stuff but good quality stuff that works well (at a sensible price so I don't have to baby it). When looking for tarps locally 99% of the time I found something like this
(http://www.tsago.gr/assets/contents/images/320x320/mousamades-me-krikous.jpg)
which can be OK but is not what I am looking for. Maybe I'll find something else in a hardware store, though I doubt it.
Thanks for the badge, Z!
Day 25: hate the saw
Day 25: hate the saw
Too big for you, huh?
IMO it's probably the worst tool on the OHT.almost just a waste of space.
Some more great shots gdoolittle and congrats to all that have already finished   :like:
I'm kinda glad the challenge is over. This was hard challenge and I couldn't bring myself to like it. Personally, I feel having the ability to use every tool one-handed is not worthy the extra size. I mean you have a huge tool with tiny implements (small blade, small saw). I won't go into detail what I all dislike about it, but focus on the things I like.
The pliers
I have trouble flicking the tool, however, the long needle-nose suited me well.
The hook
My first tool with a rescue hook. I still have to work on my sharpening skills but the hook is a versatile tool.
Addendum I: lightsaber with blade and light. It used to be purple, but somehow turned red
Addendum II: Did we ever solve the mystery of Zoids blue tool?
Addendum III: once g-doodle is done I will draw a winner.
I make you a good deal on mine... Its in good condition except for some failed sharpening on the hook (but then sharpening does not really damage the tool).I'm kinda glad the challenge is over. Some good thoughts there Eth :tu: I have been on the fence about getting a OHT and I think I will still get one some day but I will have to find the right deal :D

Day 28:Yeah exactly my thoughts... also I never found the tool I wanted so I used two hands anyway :P
It will feel good to get this brick out of my pocket every day. I will miss the cutting hook and the pliers. Thats about it.

I think most of it has passed over where I am. A few hours ago you couldn't take more than three steps outside without looking like you got a 55 gallon drum of water dumped on you.

The legend tells that years ago every casino in Las Vegas had a three-piece chicken dinner with a potato and a veggie for $1.79. A standard bet back then was $2, hence when you won a bet you had enough for a chicken dinner!I wanted to make a food related guessing game but then realized that the answer is "Burger" and if we guess the price then the guy guessing first is the guaranteed looser... so it has to be something else, which makes the quote above quite irrelevant, but I liked it and it is funny and cool *breath*
DAY 20:I'm still quite stumped on this one

Who is Eths. favorite movie hero?
Does the answer win you the price? No! So, anyone can have a guess. BUT it buys me time to come up with something clever... but it will probably be Sunday.

That was the most awesome way ever to do a GAW Eth :o :rofl:Yeah, but I think the hamster-wheel-of-fortune (of course it would have been better with a webcam that takes pictures every minute :P) was pretty good too. But my favorite was the gas-powered-dart-gun (and it was also a lot less work).
The suspense was killing me :ahhh I am glad I caught it a few hours later or I would have gone insane waiting to know the winner :D :like:
