Title: Misprinted Freestyle
Post by: narcosynthesis on October 31, 2015, 11:19:34 AM
A wee show and tell for you today - my Leatherman Freestyle CX tool, misprinted as a Skeletool CX

Something that is of interest to any of the collectors out there? Or 'Just another factory mistake' and regular enough to see?

We had a batch of them a few years back. Not too common but also not that rare.

Hopefully this isn't considered too cheeky of a question, but does anyone have an idea what I could expect to get in terms of a trade or sale for it?

Ultimately I have found it isn't a tool I have really connected with, and if it is of any interest as a curiosity (or even just as a tool) then it might be worth trading it, but ultimately I have no real idea what it would be worth or what would be considered a fair offer...

When/if you decide what you want for it, please send me a PM as I think it would make a great companion to my Skeletool marked as a Freestyle.  :D

So those parts in Skeletool and Freestyle are interchangeable?

What parts are you thinking of?

In this case they mistakingly used the frame from the Skele for the Freestyle.

Exactly, that's what I meant.

Some really bad side by side pics of the Skele and the Freestyle. The left side frame is the same, only the backspring part gets the bit adapter added.

Yeah, my Skele CX anodising is a bit worn. :D It's seen quite a bit of carry and use since 2008. ;)

I thought it was a special "limited edtition two tone painted" Skeletool ...  :D

That Skeletool has seen a lot of pocket time, that's for sure  :o.

A few years of actual day to day EDC followed by occasional carry in the next years when the collection grew. It was my first or second multi ever and featured on the first pic (EDC thread) I ever posted on MTO.
