Day 2 of 30:
Home with 2 sick kids today, but I did use the scissors to open a bag of my secret candy after the kids all went to bed

Nice job!  Definitely looks a lot better.  I see what you mean about the blade.  Not my cup of tea but it's a workable blade. :tu:

Well, the $20 Voyageur arrived in the mail today.
As usual I didn't (forgot to) take "before" photos, but  the ones at the beginning of the thread are 100% what I pulled out of the mailbox.

First impression was "not as bad as I was expecting".
What looked like a big patch of corrosion on the back scale was in fact just paint.
There is quite a bit of corrosion pitting on the scales and a lot of small "pocket wear marks". It has definitely been a user.

A series of baths, some gentle work with toothpicks and the application of a little oil later and it was looking much better with the pivots all moving freely and smoothly.

Unscrewed the pivot of the 84mm scissors I have been hoarding for many years and restored the pair on the knife to full functionality. The single sided spring was also transferred.

The blade is not as bad as it looks. I'd say that the tip was snapped off a some point in time and rather than go for the rounded off "butter blade" option the former owner has ground it to a clip point(ish) profile. If I ever come across an ELINOX stamped blade in better condition I might replace it but for now the original gets to stay.
Shield has been touched up with red Sharpie as a bit of lipstick for the beauty shots.

I wouldn't sell it for 10x what it's cost me.

I'm still following here even though I had to bow out for this one.
I've been banned from the eBay since the boss lady retired but I picked this one up some time ago.   Appeared to be a commemorative from the ISA of some sort.

If anyone has a better transition, I'd love to know what it is
